what mouse do you have? if it's the mx master, you don't need to unlock scroll, you can just spin it and it unlocks automatically

Why are the bots so bad? Do they make them bad on purpose? It would certainly be easy to program them to be better than they are. I wonder if there’s any effort to make world class bots like there are in the other board games (go, chess, backgammon, etc.)

How many unique maps can be created on these settings if we calculate all the possible blizzard combinations? Can someone do the math?

Sure. With 84 territories and 8 blizzards the number of combinations is 84!/8!/76! = 43,595,145,594

​@@mcdonb2it's more complicated than that as the blizzard algorithm means that there can be no sections which are fully locked off from the rest of the board. Interested to hear how you integrate that haha

Also I would argue that it's only the choke points or map splits that make for a "different map". A blizzard in Paris does nothing without an adjacent blizzard, while a blizzard in Gascony is an entirely different map altogether. A great many blizzards do absolutely nothing. Still, even if 95% of @mcdonb2's possible map combos are invalid or don't change the map, that's still 2 billion+ map combinations. That's a lot.

The only invalid single blizzard is blocking Sevastopol (8/84), every other invalid combination needs at least two blizzards in the right spots which makes things unlikely. For a given combination of two territories we have a 8/84 * 7/83 = 0.008 chance of both being selected. I found 26 of these options from a quick check but might have missed some more. So we lose ~30% of all combinations to that. Invalid three and four blizzard combinations are far more complicated. I guess you could run a simulation to see which fraction produces valid maps.

How did this guy ever win any risk tournament ever?!?! I’m a fairly new player. But like I’ve reached master rank and I only started playing 2 weeks ago. Pete is miles clear in skill. It was obvious from about 5 minutes into the game Pink was a noob.
