The thing about these Kymco k pipes is you can pretty much put any pitbike engines in them. I have a Kymco k pipe 50 and I put a 125 pitbike engine in it. It was a straight fit. You could put a 140cc or 160cc if you really wanted

@@x66Hawk66x slower acceleration yes but I pitted it in top speed riding on it vs my friend on his 2017 Grom125 and the K-pipe actually had a +1 to +2 mph top speed on flat ground in about the exact same condtions in our test since we were riding the same road at the same time. We thought it was the much larger wheels on the K-pipe that gave it a slightly higher top speed in our test and if the K-Pipe cost almost twice the price to allow it to have EFI like the Grom I would bet it would keep up in acceleration and have a significantly higher top speed

Looks like you was shifting with the throttle, I just got one and I never rode a bike before, I’m hearing the clutch is pointless, So I guess I’m asking how was you shifting between gears?
@MotoSnax5 жыл бұрын
It has an automatic clutch, so you only have to release the throttle for a second, shift gears and open throttle again. If you come to a stop I think it will stay in the gear where you left it in. I have sold it many years ago. The gearbox is upside down, or at least it was when I had one. So it is 1 up, then everything is down; Neutral, 2, 3, 4. Maybe on later models they changed it back to 1 down and the rest up. Good luck!

Hoi, nee.

Why does its sound different just after you change up gears when accelerating?
@MotoSnax10 жыл бұрын
That's the automatic transmission which is using the clutch a little longer than necessary. Normally it picks up smoother and releases the clutch sooner. To generate this sound with a manual transmission you would need to release the clutch lever a little bit too slow.
@richwebber527510 жыл бұрын
I have one of these bikes but a 50cc so when changing gear do you hold the clutch lever down for a few seconds?
@MotoSnax10 жыл бұрын
You mean the gear shift lever? No, but that would make the same sound. I don't know why the engine did it this time. Normally it does that when it's cold, but the engine could no way be that cold. Did a 50km ride, waited 10 minutes, then after a few kilometers I did this top speed run. If you check out my other videos, you will notice that you won't hear that sound of the engine using the automatic clutch a little bit longer.

What speed in what gear you mean? I don't have the K-Pipe anymore, I just shift gears whenever I hear there is not much left as extra speed/power in that gear. I think it was like 1st ; 0-30km/h, 2nd 30-55km/h, 3rd 55-75/80km/h, 4th 80km/h-top. Somewhere in that direction, but it has been 2 years ago since I sold it. The engine did indeed sound Ok, not giving you the feeling it would blow up at 100km/h.
@khacduy23277 жыл бұрын
Amersfoort81 awesome that's just what I need. sorry for my bad expression but you made it right :D but 0-30km? will that make the engine blow? :D or the sound will just be ok?

@MotoSnax7 жыл бұрын
I don't really remember if it is really 30km/h when shifting to 2nd, sorry. But I think the K-Pipe has a rev limiter, so the engine won't blow. Just shift when it feels right. If you can't get more speed or torque from a gear, shift to the next.

@MotoSnax8 жыл бұрын
E. Nieminen K-Pipe 125 has only got 6kW. So top speed is not bad. Your scooter probably has more power. Sounds like it would have 10-11kW.
@eeronieminen8 жыл бұрын
Amersfoort81 Yeah I have 12.3kw but is there any way to make this kymco same size engine produce as much power as the honda engine? Have you checked if the carburator has a limiter screw in it, like many 4stroke 50cc chinese scooters have? Is it limited from the air intake or exhaust? Because if this bike had 12kw, it would be a hell lot more fun to drive, since it would actually accelerate off the line. My scooter goes 0-100 in like 10 seconds with variator, and 125kg total weight. The k-pipe is so light and has manual that it would do it in about 8 seconds or so.

@MotoSnax9 жыл бұрын
+N Lie Trick That depends on many things. When this was 35km/l, my weight was 97kgs (now it's 85kgs, give or take a kilo). I'm 1.80m, my riding style on the K-Pipe is full throttle at most places, speeds above 80km/h. If you weigh 60kgs, ride about 60km/h all day and you are shorter in length, then 45-50km / l should be possible. I have sold the K-Pipe btw. Maybe you like the model, but if you are used to 16hp, the K-Pipe won't be your thing. It has no power.
@ngoctay206918 жыл бұрын
+Amersfoort81 + 180cm and 95kg Amersfoort81. you too big for moto. I'm 170cm and 61kg. In my country, you can not driving with more speed 60km / h. I hope it will save more fuel.
@MotoSnax8 жыл бұрын
+N Lie Trick Haha, you are right. I was too big for the K-Pipe. That's why I lost 13kgs. But still, with 83-85kgs, I'm still too heavy for a 6kW 125cc bike. If you can only go 60km/h and you are 61kg, I think 50km on 1 liter should be possible. But I'd rather have something more powerful. A liquid cooled 125cc is way more powerful. Think of KTM Duke 125, Yamaha MT-125 etc. I don't know what is available in your country and I cannot look into your wallet.
