Behind the Scenes at the Austin F1 GP!

With the 2022 US GP at the Circuit of the Americas now wrapped up, it's time to take a look at some F1 paddock behind the scenes stories and moments! In this F1 BTS video, we get a look at how Daniel Ricciardo entered the F1 Austin GP on his horse who went by the name of Horsey McHorseface. I'll also show you a great moment I captured with McLaren's Lando Norris and even discuss the grid girls in the Austin GP paddock club at COTA. @@KymIllman Don't know if you saw but there was an epic helicopter shot of you from behind on the tower overlooking the home strait in FP3 with about 10 mins remaining in the session. I think Max had a bit of a moment coming around the last corner.

Unfortunate hearing about people taking things at the end of the video, but I'm also very happy about F1 getting more and more popular in America. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the Vegas Grand Prix next year. Thanks for all of your videos Kym, you sir are what I aspire to be. It's a long road to get to where you are, but I've had tons of fun on that journey so far shooting at my local tracks and acquiring media credentials there as well.

Mick Schumacher has definitely brought his dog(s) in the paddock before and I believe he said his dog met Lewis's. Kimi back in the day brought his German Shephard as well. Many drivers have dogs or cats, but someone has to watch them when you're not around so that's a whole thing, as well as needing special permission for them to be allowed in.

Getting BBQ sauce from California is rather like getting salsa from NY. Go to Lockhart next year and eat at Kreutz Market or Black's or Smitty's Market. The sauce that is available is mostly for the out of towners. Like the good pit masters in Texas say, "What's wrong with the meat that you want to hide it with sauce."

I remember reading an interview with a model who had been doing grid girl work at the Hungarian GP for almost 10 years when they stopped it. She said that the grid duties was such a small part of her job on a race weekend. She and the other girls worked 10 or 12 hour days doing their promotional work and being ambassadors for whichever brand they were sponsored by that day, she also went on to mention that the exposure that she and the other girls received would often lead to more work opportunities. I understand that people don't want girls reduced to objects to stand in front of the cars, but what they have done by removing grid girls is directly take work away from women, and remove the opportunity for them to get more work in the future.

Almost all of the Aramco signs had been ripped off and taken. Security at track exits had piles of Aramco signs. Security (men and women) at the pit wall could not contain the flood of people jumping onto pit lane. None the less, it was amazing.
