@@BauerHermann1811 Can't tell if the last sentence is sarcasm or not, I hope it's the former. Also, what does she do that's so underappreciated? She maintains his helmet for him, and does work out with him, and gets to travel the world and wine and dine with the crème de la crème. Are you saying you wouldn't drop whatever you do currently for that? Oh I'm sure she gets paid slightly more than your regular trainer too. Why does everything have to be "underrated" and "underappreciated" in the world nowadays? You know the people that are underappreciated, farmers in developing countries toiling away in obscurity to grow the plants that get turned into those snacks you love buying from the supermarket. I'm not saying these guys' jobs are easy, but all this hysteria about any and everything gets tiring.

@@peterporkeresq.2817 She is not only his trainer, she also acts as a personal assistent and is a psysiologist. Yes, my last sentence was serious. Behind every big successful men stand a strong women (in this case angela) I am actually a farmer myself (we raise beef cattle), ok not in a developping country but its still hard work. I personally wouldnt swap my current Job for travelling around the World because i love wehere i am.

Great video! It seems to me that they are more of an equipment manager and director of operations for the driver. It still sounds like a great job but here in the US, athletic trainers deal more with the actual athlele and his needs and there are other people that take care of equipment and travel arrangements.

Since RedBull employs the trainer, does that mean driver's personal trainer cannot join the team? For example, will Sergio Perez lose his personal trainer when he join RedBull? Or was Ricciardo's Michael Italiano unemployed when Dany was at RedBull?

What you're saying is that the trainer is more like a personal assistant than just doing physio. This seems to me what Hamilton's gal Angela has done for years.

I think they start as just trainers/physios then, they build trust with the driver and thus expand their duties. Also, Lewis has had a pretty stable career, with Angela only joining him in 2016. So, I think that helps. A lot can be brushed over if you're constantly achieving success.

May I ask a question: Is it a must for the drivers to have a professional trainer or is it just highly advised and they all do that but it isn't obligatory if the driver already has a degree in sport science themselves?

I’d say that’s a rather one-dimensional way of putting it. A trainer operates as a member of a driver’s support system and is often one of their driver’s closest friends. Given the high stress environment of F1 and the mental strain driving can put on an F1 driver, they’re a vital part of making sure a race weekend and the preparation for said weekend goes smoothly.

As a female, is it less likely that you would get a job as a formula one physiotherapist or personal trainer. I know that if you are employed by the drivers themselves it’s a personal choice but from what we have seen would your chance as a female be less likely than a male.

They’re a jack of all trades, but they’re least of all the last one you mentioned; the trainers are not there to help them improve their driving skills. They’re a vital part of a driver’s support system and help make sure that a race weekend goes smoothly. Given the high-stress environment of F1 and the mental strain it can put on a driver, the trainer is there to make sure a driver can focus 100% on driving and their PR duties.

To be honest I'm quite negative about how Lewis treats Angela. He needs her EVERYWHERE, she even attented a BLM rally with him earlier this year. There's a thin line between being a physio and personal assistant.

Other drivers' trainers can be seen following them everywhere, Angela just gets a lot of attention because she's Lewis' trainer. I'm pretty sure Lewis pays her reasonably for the work she does. I can't speak for the other trainers but given Lewis' salary you'd think so...Also do you really think he forced her to go to the rally?

Don't be. It's a lucrative job. She gets to travel the world and get some of the most exotic experiences. I can imagine that her family is also well rewarded.
