Kyokushin, Ashihara, enshin; all the same thing, they just focus on Sabaki the further down the umbrella you go. The main reason the different styles exist is due to politics and disagreements on who was to take Mas Oyama's place as the head of the Kyokushin group.

They both are very good fighters ! It does'nt matter if they are novice or advanced.....what is important is their fighting spirit ! Respect ! OSSU !

I agree, Kyokushin-kai/shorter man won, and I have taken Ashihara, Enshin, Kyokushin-Kai, Musokai, TKD, Wado, KB, clearly he won this fight, hands down (or up as the case may be). Two knockdowns, chased him out of the ring several times, better kime, far better!

The Late founder of Kyokushin Karate Kai Kan , Grandmaster Mas Oyama did use clinches , grabbing of uniforms and sleeves , leg sweeps , throws and tripping on his earlier students. But later generations opted for body blows. Master Ashihara Sensei and Enshin Ryu Founder ( Both Oyama's Students ) are the only ones employing these tactics. Kyokushin now allows head punches which i find dangerous.

I saw a guy break a cheek bone with a left jab using regular martial art gloves. It wasn't just a fracture, it was a total break. People do not realize that with the power that it takes break a one inch pine board, you can break an eye socket or cheek bone. So you are correct when you say that bare knuckle face punches are to severe. That is why I always laugh when I hear commentators talk about hockey fights like a broken cheek bone means tremendous punching power because it is totally false.

no Ashihara is basicly a broken part of kyokushin.. btw i was sitting in the front row :)

@Buczkman If you think it's so easy why don't you go fight either one of them, then you can slam them with a combo straight out from your xbox controller!
@zu-na-mi15 жыл бұрын
Ashihara is based on kyokushin, it's just newer... And some of the ideas behind it has changed. It's proven more effective than the older system, but let's face it, there are more kyokushin masters out there. Kyokushin used to be the system used by he japaneese police, but it has been replaced with ashihara. In many turnaments, both kyokushin fighters and ashiahra fighters participate at the same time. Systems are VERY similar.

I ve a question. why they dont punch into the face but kicks seemed to be allowed.thx
@u3111741616 жыл бұрын
Bare knuckle head punches are banned, even in the UFC, it's that simple. They're not allowed to do head punches without gloves.

"Realistically speaking its better to go for body shots rather then head shots since its a larger target and has weak spots like ribs and abs." What the hell?
@dynacker16 жыл бұрын
Have you tried 4oz gloves before? They're almost like wearing nothing compared to the 16oz boxers/muay thai fighters use.

@BacheKhala Legacy system from kyukushinkai. Bareknuckles open up people's faces really fast, so it affects training if sparring is done on a daily basis.

i dont know about ashihara karate and wish not to be disrespectful , but kyokushin bears in mind the 100 kumite when traing . Does ashihara have some kind of background ideas like that ? just asking and wondering what the philosophy is behind ashihara . Osu ,

True, bare knuckle strikes to the head has been banned, even in the UFC. A very simple explenation.

@BacheKhala Just the rules for this particular style / host. Essentially it's a safety thing
@timmythealien16 жыл бұрын
Honestly, whenever you have competition in any way, you have to sacrifice realism for safety. Different rules sacrifice different aspects of real fighting. In this case, hand strikes to the face needs to be sacrificed in order to have bare knuckle fighting. Muay Thai, for example, sacrifices bare knuckle fighting in order to have punches to the face. Either way, you lose realism. For that reason, I think it's important to explore different disciplines. Even MMA is not all that realistic.

that why you dont hit it in a match, there is no point in killing each other. You can save those bare knuckle head punches for self defense on the street.

really I don't like kyokushin style. For real fighting i prefer full contact or better a mma solution. As I'm searching for a good shape of movement, I prefer shotokan.
