Aizen seems to respect Kyoraku in a way he doesn't to most captains. I wonder if things had turned out different whether they could have been friends. All Aizen ever seemed to want was someone who could truly see him, and Kyoraku has uncanny perception

Shame it has to be cut up gor copyright, but it was fucking hype when Kyoraku released his mouth and then Aizen just started walking. I don't think he was supposed to do that yet XD I dunno, maybe it's something fucky with Kyokasuigetsu now he's sn ascended being. Maybe he made the illusion of his left eye and ankles already being freed as an indication for Kyoraku to release those items. And Kyoraku complies quickly to keep things civil

See? This is one of those moments that shows how TYBW arc is full of plot holes and that Kubo just lost his touch by the time he started writing it. Here, Aizen himself explains EXACTLY what Kurotsuji will tell him in the next episode about restraints not eliminating his reiatsu but keeping it close to him. And yet, then Kubo forgets he already wrote it in, makes Aizen "forget" he knows it, shoot out his reiatsu to down the Soul King Palace and be surprised when it doesn't work - and then have Kurotsuji explain it all AGAIN lmao

Aizen didn't forget, he was trying to overpower the seals. In the manga Shunsui literally states "You said it yourself, the restraints keep your reiatsu near you however you misjudged how powerful those seals are".

I'm pretty sure it's just Aizen trying his hand at getting out despite being privy to that already. It's not like Aizen would just listen and take things at face value, and it makes sense he'd be surprised that he couldn't break out considering how much stronger he's gotten.
