With being the first dinosaur themed sentai, it also adds fantasy elements as well. I loved Zyuranger. I actually agree with all your negatives, aside the theme song, but for whatever reason I still love it. Something about the surreal tone appealed to me.

Interesting to see another perspective on this series. I haven’t finished Zyuranger yet (as of the time I write this I have seven episodes left), and my thoughts are largely the same. The whole kid of the week thing really drags down the episodes it’s featured in, and it’s no surprise that the best written and paced episodes were the ones that actually focused on the Rangers, with no one off kids to take the spotlight. I can definitely see the appeal of Goushi, but to me, he was just as bland as Geki and Mei. Boi was definitely my favorite, I might not have liked the kid of the week plots, but whenever Boi played a role in them, it made them easier to stomach. Also I’m glad someone hates Dan as much as I do. Outside of the core five, I definitely think Burai was the best handled of the Rangers, though I think it came at the cost of the other Rangers potentially getting more development. Anytime he was featured, he’d tend to steal the spotlight. I still like him, but his exposure had its issues Overall I enjoy Zyuranger, but I have a feeling that if it weren’t for its importance to Power Rangers, I’d probably have no interest in it. And as I watch more Sentai, I’ll probably find myself caring about it less and less

Zyuranger is such departure from jetman. I think the main problem with Zyuranger is that it overfocus on the kid characters more than the main hero’s. But I love Bandora

I'm probably in the minority of Toku fandom here because unlike most Sentai fans, I started bing-watching Sentai started from Zyuranger. That was before I noticed Jetman. The reason why I started with Zyuranger is it paved the way to MMPR and Angry Video Game Nerd was the one who told me wth Super Sentai was. I personally don't like MMPR because it's too weird and corny. I feel Zyuranger suffered from trying to do something new and innovative, particularly making a debut of the 6th Ranger, and poorly and confusing writing. You have right to rant Zyuranger but without Zyuranger, we will never have such great Sentai show like Hurricaneger and Power Rangers will never exist. Sometimes your least favorite is my most favorite, right? As a Dinosaur Super Sentai fan in particular, I would rather watched Zyuranger than Abaranger & Kyoryuger as Zyuranger is pretty much my safe zone. Abaranger's weakness are a lack of Pink Ranger, AbareKiller is considered the 6th Ranger but not 5th and everything is meh if it wasn't for AbareKiller himself. Kyoryuger's weakness is KyoryuRed himself because he's too annoying and narcissist, he's considered one of the worst Red Ranger. Also another weakness Kyoryuger has is it was meant to covered Go-Busters's disappointing run, especially toy merchandise. Then Ryusoulger came along as the last Heisei Super Sentai season, I watched it and surprisingly, I love it. The main heroes are amazing, the main villians are uniquely awesome and the show ended the Heisei era beautifully. Back to Zyuranger, Pteraranger Mei is my top 5 favorite Pink Sentai Ranger. She's so cute, beautiful, adorable and I love her. If it wasn't for her, I would never give a cap on Zyuranger anymore.
