Very disappointed with the durability. Clearly not designed for speeds produced by brushless power. This kit is suited for slower, vintage speed motors. Not good value. Parts are obscenely expensive... I have almost $150 in replacement parts. A set of satin chrome wheels with tires is over $60. RIDICULOUS!!!! I bought the $35 universal joints that are too short to stay in the diff cups. They engage at the outter tenth of the cup and pop out almost every time the car has a hard roll. RIDICULOUS!!! Speaking of the diff cups, whybare super sloppy inside the gear case, I have disassembled and there is slop between the bearings, the cups and gear case. It runs smooth but still appears to be an ABNORMAL amount of play. The hex hardware is soft and only good for 2, maybe 3 removals, tightenings or tweeks before they strip out, and that's using proper quality tools and making sure the tool is squarely engaged within the hex head. The chassis rails are made of soft aluminum as well, they bent to the point of needing replacement after a crash, they were nearly $25 to replace and on the 1st test after the rebuild suffered damage again after a high speed, end over end flip in the grass. A hoy to build and look at but it is not a durable kit above 20-25mph. The shocks are not like the orginal kits, these are lower quality and leak. This buggy is not for jumping or bashing, its for grassy flat fields snd keeping vintage speeds, it just WILL NOT handle crashes. I am so disappointed hat Im going to write Kyosho America and see what they say. This kit is meant for shelves and nostalgia, it is NOT up to modern standards by any means. It still pushes (understeers) through turns like it always did. I had the Kyosho Assault as a kid, I forgot how bad that was, but my nostalgia for my first build wad why I chose this as my return to the hobby. I wish I woulve chosen something else.
