The main character this time is RISA HIGASHIMAE, who is a Bamboo craftsman and a Kiriko.
Kiriko is the job of cutting and selling bamboo.
And the role of protecting and growing bamboo forests in the future.
HIGASHIMAE's flower vases are made with only slightly distorted materials, such as bent bamboo and sesame-like grained bamboo. There was actually a meaning in choosing bamboo that is not popular with everyone.
Bamboo grows asexually. If you cut all the straight bamboo, it will eventually stop growing. In order to protect the bamboo forests of the future, HIGASHIMAE dares to cut even the distorted bamboos, find beauty in such bamboos, and sublimate them into works.
HIGASHIMAE's workplace is Takano Chikko, which has a workshop in Nagaokakyo City, a famous bamboo production area.
Since its founding, Takano Chikko has been producing tea utensils and household items using bamboo crafts. In addition, craftsmen with various techniques such as lacquer, makie, and joinery are enrolled to create a variety of products.
HIGASHIMAE has now started a new trial with the team of Takano Chikko.
