This was really great, all you need is their 2008 performance on this compilation video and you would have all the years they won the All-Japan Marching Contest, National Gold Award. Also 2007, 2011, 2014 were good years too, they won the National Silver Award.

Tachibana writes "橘" in Japanese. "橘" Means citrus orange tree. So the color of their uniforms is orange.

The DM from 2009 is Taniguchi-san, she is from the 106th Class. While, the DM from 2015 is Okamoto-san, nicknamed “Cony” and she is a trombonist from the 112th Class.

I still haven't gotten past the overseas ordering obstacles yet. Maybe, I will try again soon to see if it has become easier. Well, I'm thinking that this latest D.K.R. posting is pre-recorded as I was expecting for Batam to have her surgery. The music for the drill is called The Band Wagon, from an off-broadway review in the 1950s. (nothing to do with the movie of the same name) Not a lot of people saw the revue, but the music was widely broadcast in those days. Japan is basically closed to tourists even during the Olympics. They were verys low to pass a vaccine and are only at about a couple of per cetn\ Remember that in the 2015 video, the powers that be in the contest added a rule banning pit instruments (that satic drum set) and the drum section had to figure out how to do eerything with carried instruments. I have no doubt that rule was aimed directly at Tachibana.

You'll find Horacha-san in the first half of this video. At the 4:16 mark, she's the second person from the left, third from the front, playing the clarinet. This contest was when Horaccha-san was a freshman in high school.

A couple of thoughts (actually three!), (a) wasn't the 2009 performance Great ? it's not often seen and has a less familiar repertoire (b) the lovely tune played by the five clarinetists just before morphing into Singx3 (14:50) is called "Misty" composed by pianist Errol Garner as an instrumental but there are some wonderful vocal versions of it too ( Johnny Mathis, Sarah Vaughan, Ray Stevens etc. - all on KZbin) for Batam to check out as she whiles away her recovery and (c) my favourite part of the 2015 performance is at 20:15 when the inner lines run and leap over the outer lines - Spectacular! - they don't do it any more, I think it was considered too Dangerous! By the way, I have been told that you make some money (maybe only a small amount) if your viewers do not "Skip the Ads" which pop-up during your reactions.Is this true? Because you are my Favourites I never skip ads hoping that you benefit from it so while watching this video, I sat through more than 25 mins of ads during your 22 mins of reaction! - to be honest, I had a shave and made a cup of tea HaHa! But I am happy to continue if it helps you even in a small way.
