Some of the strongest aliens in outer space come to earth, it really shouldn't be easy for a couple of earthlings and a halfbreed to beat them. It set the tone for the future of the series: This aint gags and lighthearted jokes anymore like in OG dragon ball, this was gonna be dark and heartwrenching. Which it very well was (at least until the namek saga revealed new dragon balls on namek)
