If you are talking about the fuzzy sound, yes, absolutely. If you are talking about a fuzz pedal, Josh never used one while in Kyuss. He started and then played - mostly - with the Fulltone Ultimate Octave in QOTSA.

Brant Bjork is awesome and had his reasons. Its possible that Josh Homme and his ego was part reason. I like Homme but he seems to have had aspirations beyond ...something. It caused disharmony. Was QOTSA worth ripping Kyuss apart...let the audience decide.
