in auto increment/decrement it will move on to the immediate next/previous memory address since it increments/decrements by one only. In indexed we can jump to any memory address according to the index register value.

in increment and decrement addressing modes its not possible to jump between elements e.g from 1st to 100th, u'll need to increment the address by giving clock pulses, while in indexed mode all u need to do is load the index register with the required index of element
