I touched it with my bare hands and I don't remember if I had any open wounds on them (I definitely had a hangnail though). Can I get rabies this way? You said that the risk is low, but not zero?

If we touch our eyes and mouth after touching saliva, can it be transmitted. I am feeding a dog who has been bitten by a dog, now it's wound at mouth has been smelling badly ( am I at threat of rabies in case he has rabies). And should I continue feeding him as his jaw is not functional any more ( because he has been attacked at mouth) so each time his saliva touches my hand and also I have to smell his bad breath. Please reply, should I take rabies shots ( and my family as well)

Usually the way you described rabies does not spread. it has been categorised as bite ONE. You should at least go for pre-exposure prophylaxis as you are a dog lover .....

But doctor in hospital denied the requirement of both rabies and Hepatitis. However I am taking TT and rabies both. Should I also opt for hepatitis, and continue with remaining doses of rabies(taken 1 rabies and TT injection today).

Sir On sunday (31 jan) a stray pup (2.5 months old) licked my hand. I washed my hands with just water (not soap) and ate with my hands after 1 hour. on sunday he was very friendly But few days back he started bitting other dogs in a furious way, also had difficulty in swallowing food, he died yesterday (7 jan). I had taken 3 shots of anti rabies vaccine (0, 3, 7) in october 2023 as my unvaccinated puppy bit my hand. Do I still need to take all the anti rabies vaccine or just one booster dose. Sir,kal 26/03/2024 ko, bahar road me paani gira hua tha.. aur us paani mera feet ka niche me lag gya, jaha pe ek chota sa open cut hain.Achanak se mereko khayal aya ki road me gira hua paani to dogs akhshar lick karte hain. Maine 5 saal pehle 5 Vaccine Dose liya tha(Last dose: In April 2019).Aur pichle saal 3 ARV Doses liya tha(in Jan., 2023).Abhi currently bhi maine precautionary doses le raha hoon(1st Dose : 19/03/24; 2nd Dose: 22/03/24 aur 3rd Dose Kal hi liya).But, kal se hi mujhe thoda bohot shivering aa raha hain iss Garmi me bhi - maybe because I am overthinking too much and having OCD. Abhi kya me 5 doses complete karoon?Mujhe kya worried hona hain? Kya me 100% safe hoon? Last rabies booster rabivax s vaccine I took on day 5th instead of day 3. Does it provide immunity for three months? I am 40 yrs old healthy male also I tested my rabies antibodies titre after 14 days and it is 4.0 EU/ML. This topic requires one on one discussion as lots of loopholes are there with this protocol which was given in 2018 by WHO Position Paper. Today in 2024 still we are blindly following the same whereas NRCP clearly mentions IRRESPECTIVE of TIME PERIOD. Above all CDC says - re exposure prophylaxis is required in all of them who test positive 0.5IU/ml neutralising antibodies. Now, the question arises - since the neutralising antibodies peak at 14th day of completion of ARV... 1.if you have completed ARV yesterday, and again fresh bite occurs today then what? your neutralising antibodies have not yet reached a peak (it peaks after 14 days). should you go for re vaccination?????? 2.in case of fresh bite on 30th day or 98th day, the neutralising antibodies will remain more than 0.5IU/ml then why on 98th day vaccination is required and not on 30th day (according to WHO). even after 3 years the antibodies will remain more than 0.5 IU/ml then why 90 days cut off is there. It makes no sense at all. That's why CDC considers RE EXPOSURE PROPHYLAXIS in all of them who measures more than 0.5IU/ml and FULL COURSE in them who measures less than 0.5IU/ml. There is no time gap formula at all. I hope it helps🙏🏻 and please 🙏🏻 don't remain tensed. act according to the situation, it will help you....

Sir aaj mere bare feet bohot pass se ek stray dog nikal gya.Use main nikalte time nahi dekha but mehsoos kiya. Was already taking Abhayrab ARV Doses(IM Route).I have taken the 0,3,7 doses on time & taken the 4th dose on Day 15 instead of Day 14. On the next day of 4th Dose, I probably got a scratch (very little blood) by an unknown stray Dog.So, to be on the safer side, I want to hypothetically consider it as a dog scratch only. So, kindly consider my sincere request to let me know - 1. Do I need to prepone my 5th Dose on Day 28 due to long interval in between? 2. Do I need any additional Dose in between or after the Dose 5? 3. Will only the Dose 5 on Day 28 suffice? 4. Since I have taken the Dose 4 one day later, will it be a problem to develop the antibodies required to tackle the suspected 2nd scratch? 5. Will I be safe? Thank you for your time and reply. अगर नाखूनों में virus लग गया है तो वो virus नाख़ून से नहीं फैलेगा । ये बात बिलकुल सही है। wo case jahan pe rabid dog aapke upar kuda lekin teeth se bite nahi kar saka. lekin uss dauran agar dog ka claws/nails muh se gujarta hua skin pe scratch kar de to within seconds rabies virus transmit ho jayega. such cases are rare but are on record rabies virus remain alive only in NERVOUS TISSUES. from brain it travels down to salivary gland through nerves. it gets secreted in saliva and transferred to bite sites.again at the bite site it gets attached to the nerves and travels towards brain.this is the natural cycle. so throughout the cycle it multiplies in nervous tissues only. now coming to your question, once it gets outside the body where no nervous tissue is there it dies within couple of seconds. i hope it clears your doubt…. 🙏🏻 और अगर outside saliva में वायरस ज़िंदा रहता तो ना जाने कितनी जाने चली जाती अब तक । ख़ास कर उन बच्चों की जो गली मुहल्ले में नंगे पैर खेलते रहते हैं और कुत्तों का saliva रोड पर गिरा रहता है Please 🙏🏻 give good review of our site kidocare (link in description) if you find our work & REPLY worth .

Usual incubation period varies from 1 week to 1 year. It varies because it depends on the site of bite, the category of bite the immunity of host, the virulence of virus et cetera..... for example, bite over face has got lesser IP than over legs. so, usually rabies manifests within 1 year. now, the question arise- why rabies manifest sometimes after 3 years of bite or after 5 years of bite ???? Its because of INCOMPLETE vaccination. incomplete vaccines produce incomplete antibodies which provide incomplete protection & finally rabies manifest after few years ....... as far your question is concerned, there is no any published data ... thanks 🙏🏻

Sir, yesterday lots of monkeys came into my roof and there was a bucket of water.....and monkey k jane k 5-10mins baad i washed my face with that water what if, monkey contaminated that water for drinking purpose. yeah, it's everywhere... Medically, ALIVE and INFECTIVE are different . a virus may remain alive for few minutes/hours/days/months but may not infect. The same is with the rabies virus.
