STARBIRD -- my latest album of original music:
• Starbird (2022) (Listen here!)
WEBSITE: coreyheuvel.com
Played this one during my livestream last week and had so much fun I wanted to make a video for it. It's just a loose and wild jam, probably shouldn't even be done like this on acoustic but hey... here we are.
Originally released on the Doors 6th album also titled L.A. Woman in 1971. The last album to be released during Jim Morrison's lifetime. He died 3 months after its release 50 years ago this past July. Long live the Lizard King! I hope you enjoy
EQUIPMENT:
Stonebridge OM32SM

This performance has set the KZbin bar for a solo acoustic classic cover. Beyond any words of mine. You sir, are a artist of cosmic proportions. I listened to this cover five times in a row with the lights out and headphones on. You took my back to my youth, back to 1971.... back to the pure music of my generation. It sounded flawless. You made it look so simple. You gave this work life and energy. This combination happens 1 in a billion KZbin videos. Do it again, please! Thanks Corey.

This is an excellent performance. One thing I want to point out though is I hear a lot of peoplensinging the wrong lyrics in the first line of the song because in the album's lyric page, the words are listed as "just got into town about an hour ago" because the way Jim sang it, he sounded kind of drunk and the record label wanted to avoid putting any drug references in the lyrics. But what Jim is actually singing is "I took a little downer about an hour ago". They wrote the alternative lyric on the official album pamphlet to avoid lawsuits, but if you listen to the original track with that in mind, you'll hear "I took a little downer about an hour ago." Anyway, that's just trivia about the original song. As for this performance, A+
