I have a F Quality Smith 16ga. hammer gun made in 1914. It's a shooter not a wall hanger. Actually found 21/2 inch shells on line

An American dime is preferred I assume? Dad showed me the dime measuring but I can’t remember if it was American or Canadian. He loved these old guns;LC Smith and also Lefevers… sure miss him

Use oil very sparingly on double guns. The oil will ruin the stock wood, and the LC Smith is not the best design for taking recoil. That is why you see so many of them with cracks.
