In 95% of cases, police officers in the Derhachi community hear from people that they don't want to evacuate. Even though they live several kilometers from the border with Russia and are under regular shelling from mortars, artillery, and drones. Locals say they believe in the Armed Forces and Ukraine's victory.
However, some residents do agree to evacuate. In most cases, after a Russian shell hits their home.
In this video, we'll discuss how evacuation is ongoing in the border areas of the Kharkiv region and why, despite daily persuasions from law enforcement, people choose to stay under fire.
