No one is perfect, but they are the perfect politicians for their country, making the correct decisions, fighting the necessary battles at the right place and time. Singaporeans should be forever grateful to them and should never forget the lessons from them.
An important point why KMT failed was a big favour the war with the Japanese did to the communists. It helped to weaken the former and strengthen the latter . 0.05 0.05 Clarification: It is important to recognize that while the Chinese population is the majority in Singapore, the nation's foundation is built upon its rich mix of multi-racialism (i.e. Chinese, Malaya, Indian, and Others, aka CMIO), multiculturalism, multilingualism, and diverse religious practices. Singapore was under British rule as part of Malaya since the time of Raffles. Initially, it formed part of the Straits Settlements along with Malacca and Penang in 1826. After the Second World War, Singapore became an independent Crown colony in 1946. It attanied internal self-government in 1959 while still being part of the Commonwealth of Nations, connected through its use of the English language and historical-cultural ties. This diverse and rich history bears witness to Singapore's unique and inclusive identity.
