Oh boy, you've done it now! This has been my favorite cologne for years. It is the scent of pure, concentrated testosterone. I had a girlfriend about 20 years ago who was snooping around in my medicine cabinet and saw that my bottle was close to empty. She bought me a 6.6 oz. Bottle for Valentine's Day and I still have half of it. I'll be pretty sad when it's all gone.

Open is awesome! Really enjoy it especially in the cold, open black is really good too super old school despite being a 2012 release. This one however I didn’t enjoy lol thank you for watching!

Hey Kelan the thumbnail had fit the description of that fragrance that smells like a funeral home/parlor reminds me of your review of grey flannel or a similar characteristic of grey flannel

I know you dont cover Armaf much, but they releases a real nice warm weather frag, Armaf Ventana Marine. It's very very nice. Im in PA, and I wore it to work in colder weather, it still worked good. I was in Vero Beach FL last week, and it was a really pushing for 7-8hrs.

I am seeing this three years after you recorded your review. I was introduced to this cologne by my uncle, who came to visit us from England in the early 1980s. Everywhere he went, women of all ages would swoon over him and tell him he smelt gorgeous (he was not exactly handsome or buff). He was generous and gave me a little decant of it. And I was chased all over high school after. I have always had bottles ever since. However, it is used very sparingly as it has gone out of production, and the price is daylight robbery. I had a doctor's appointment on the upper East Side last week and put two sprays on. A lady on the train asked me what the hell I was wearing and where she could buy it. Sitting in the waiting room. I noticed that there were three medical professionals (two female and one male), behind me pointing and whispering. As I was leaving the office, one of them ran out behind me and said sorry, but we couldn't help but wonder what you were wearing.We've never smelled anything like it. I have promised them decants and will be dropping it off next week. I wish you had tried it a little longer, say walking around a mall. I become completely nose blind to it after an hour or so. However, it's clearly working its magic long after.

Also I don't think your bottle could spoil because The original composition is loaded with oak moss which is a preservative. Unless someone stored it in a place that was very hot.

So tempting I literally bought 4 tester bottles without boxes or caps ( two for me and two for my cousin in a pharmacy in Grenoble France a few months ago). So, tempting your entire vintage collection. If you ever find a bottle of Clinique Tailoring , Orlane's Un Air de Java or Courreges Man (the bottle is flat and looks like the outline of France done by a child. You must try them. They are odd ball scents that smell so - so to the wearer. But passers-by go "what are you wearing!".

I had the Shulton vintage version actually but I didn’t care much for it after just a little while. Strong scent, long lasting and very red floral scent, cousin to kouros but not on the same level. However I really enjoy Mandate which I just got

Do you know the Roger & Gallet POUR L´HOMME ??, I thought it was the same perfume (l´homme) but in a different format and it turns out that it is a totally different fragrance launched in 1993, the bottle is also different, there is hardly any information about it on the internet...

I think you are reviewing a 2000s bottle, which is mid-vintage at best. I have a bottle of this version as well as a deep vintage that says "85°" on the box. Compared with this, I think deep vintage is more refined and less sweet. This is still good though, imo and not too far off from Open Black. YMMV, of course.

Hey kelan, I have a newer version which is now discontinued, was my first fragrance I bought in the summer years ago and walked along thinking who smells so good, oh it's me! I never smelled the vintage but the new one I have smells much better, like azzaro pour home with ylang ylang and spearmint up in the opening, I really love it, got a box set with the shower gel, smells good too, maybe it's just me but if you see the same frag but in an oval kind of bottle, brown glass , modern r and g design it's a different animal, I'm sorry you didn't like it, I'm sad that it's not good for you, it holds a lot of memories for me and I'll keep my bottle forever! If you want to offload the vintage let me know, also as I'm here, love grey flannel, I know, I know, it's just skin chemistry I suppose, it's amazing! Soapy opening, massive florals with oak mossy almond drydown, I noticed that most people say it's only authentic if you get it with the flannel bag, not box, maybe there's a difference, anyway, glad to see you back in the classics, just got Pierre cardin pour homme, 1972, nice!

Not sure how vintage your bottle is since it has a long ingredients list. I have a vintage version that has only threee ingredients. Never tried the newer versions so can’t compare but the vintage is not too bad.

You're again acting ignorant, by the looks of the bottle you can't know if it's not turned, it doesn't need to go sour, there are more than one way of spoiled smell, some of them you can't know if it's turned if you don't know how exactly the good one smells, for example Lagerfeld Photo, it can turn sour, but not always, sometimes it just smells like green water, not spoiled at all, but it's turned so that it only reminds a bit of the original smell, also some scents turn even in good conditions. Givenchy Monsieur when turned smells like grandpa scent.

A. I know it’s not spoiled, it was purchased from a reputable fragrance store that sells all kinds of vintage that I have purchased from many time. B. It’s okay for me not to like something you happen to like, it will be okay Dynablast you’ll survive 🤣

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Don't even try Aramis Tuscany or even worse the older Etruscan, when it loses just one nuance of freshness it's a crap smell (but you think it's not turned), when it's good is one of the best smells ever, in the same class as Signoricci and similar smelling, both of them need to be the lightest color possible, Signoricci almost like water, and Tuscany the lightest yellow. Paradoxically Tuscany miniatures are better preserved/of lighter color than the full bottles.
