I remember this shrine from the dlc. Basically what normally happens is that when u kill that first guardian, the gate opens like normal to where the monk usually sits, and u hit the switch. This allows the middle section to descend so you can go into the guardian lair. I cant understand japanese but i think the only think Peco did differently was use the bomb launch and Skew glitch (shield surf to swapping off shields midair) to access the switch early before killing that first gaurdian. The rest is just him dominating as usual

Take a horse and go as fast as possible, just gallop your way through to the middle (you can see a clearing in your map, head there). The mist is too slow to catch you when you go full speed on a horse
