@@orfragrantpositiveair7800 This is not a song from China but all the best "Chinese songs" last 50 years are written in Taiwan by Taiwanese.
Wow! This is the best Chinese rock I've ever heard. Instant Classic. Awsome!

It's not "Chinese rock". Giving China for what it didn't produce is giving it too much credit. This band, singer, songwriters are all Taiwanese.

@@raininthesouth Taiwan is culturally and politically Chinese. The distinction that Taiwan is not China is a fallacy. Even its Olympic team is identified internationally as "Chinese" Taipei, and not as "Taiwanese" Taipei. BTW, when I said, "Chinese rock", I meant the language the song is in. While indeed the band is from Taiwan, but you can not deny the lyrics and even the cultural references the band allude to in their songs and music are meaningful only in the context of the Chinese culture. You are making BS out of nothing.

@@megamagamanga5968 So what “cultural references” in this particular song is Chinese? Are they singing about the Great Wall? Winnie the Pooh? No. So no such thing as American rock because it's written in English. Is that right? We should call it British or English rock? Your logic already betrayed your nation of origin. In the past 50 years, all the classic so-called "Chinese" songs are written in Taiwan. Can't even think of one classic song written in China by Chinese. So on the one hand China steals Taiwanese songs and claims them as Chinese, on the other hand they claim Taiwan is a part of China when the present day Chinese Communist government has NEVER governed Taiwan for a single day. So what do you call PRC before it was recognized by UN and the international community from 1949-1971. Was it a country back then?

@@raininthesouth As far as I know, Taiwan still identifies itself as "The Republic of China", not "the Republic of Taiwan". As for cultural reference, you obviously have missed the meaning of the band's name, "Lao Wong", that is only meaningful in the Chinese cultural context. Go learn some culture before you open your mouth. It shows how ignorant you are about history and culture. The people living in mainland China do not claim, or as you like to say, "steal" , the songs written after the Nationalist's retreat to Taiwan Province, as theirs. They know they were divided by politics, but culturally they share the same appreciation for these songs. You are interjecting your own prejudice and misunderstanding into this false issue, and that is wrong.

@@megamagamanga5968 Just to set the record straight, 85% of Taiwan's population are native Taiwanese. 15% that are not have now fully integrated into Taiwanese society. Most identify themselves as Taiwanese and views China as the belligerent and annoying bully next door. If Taiwanese like you guys so much, they would have already voted to be part of China. Why the need to invade the island and start WWIII over this matter? Please also don't ignore my question regarding what you call PRC before it was recognized by UN and the international community from 1949-1971. Was it a country? General Chiang Kai-shek said Republic of China is no more in 1949. That means ROC Taiwan is no longer the same ROC founded in China. Chiang also said that Taiwan was entrusted to ROC (by U.S). That's right. Americans are not that generous and would never hand over the most important geopolitical piece in the pacific to the Chinese out of the kindness of their heart. If you think so then you don't know Americans.
