I've seen high end Laufers and they look just awesome. Didn't contact Kreiger about this, but i'm pretty sure they could customize the sword for You, i.e. shortening the grip. I have got Rauber messer from them and it handles perfectly. They really do good blades. Maybe their standard swords arent too fancy, but there's very little to complain about them, especially when You compare their prices to other swordmakers. I do recommend Kreiger😉

I just saw on their website with their RICHTER and HAUER swords they have two more different leather handles for longswords. You can customize your sword with handle, the wrapping, different guards and pommels and also the motives on the scabbard.

Nice review, but I'd like to know more. How is the blade geometry, does it have a secondary bavel? Are there ripples on the blade? How are the fullers? Are they straight , do they terminate at the same point on both sides? Is it loud when you move it around? Do you get a feed back regarding your edge alignment? How does it behave by cutting and what about edge retention?

Very good review and i love the aesthetics of this blade, too! Was about to order that one from them in the near future, but now i really gonna wait, if they change the handle and or provide another option in the months/years to come. I have small hands and that wouldn't work too well for me, i bet. Thank you very much for this video and for mentioning it! Did you consider to write them your critics? I hope you do or already did. You are a bigger name in the fencing community and what i learned is, that swordsmiths mostly listen to you guys ... if they aren't named Ronin Kata... uh, forget it ;)

I have one of these, slighly customized with a different pommel, brassing etc, but it really is a very good sword and great value for money. I dont really feel the grip is too wide, but maybe thats just me. 🙂

Thanks for the review. There are not a lot of reviews on krieger weapons out there. Does it have distal taper? I inquired them some time ago about their richter and they told me that they dont put distal taper in the blade..
