You are so thoughtful to have done a full tutorial from assembly to display. You did an excellent presentation, and gave us tips to help make it so much easier to assemble. It's really pretty.

This is the first step toward true 3D displays. Im talking like the screens are measured in 3 dimensions instead of 2, Ex. 1920x1080 vs 1920x1080x720. To me, this is simply a very primitive 3D TV with really big, sparse, pixels and a low pixel count. One day we will have true 3D TV's i just know it.

Giggabyte181 How would a 3d camera work?
@cody45167 жыл бұрын
I think the question is how would 3D _Cameras_ work? You would need at least 3 cameras capturing an image simultaneously to get a good 3D effect. Eventually, i think we will create 3D Filming rooms, with multiple cameras built into the walls and ceiling where production teams would film their movies and shows. Over the years we will keep increasing the number of cameras used during filming just like we increase pixels on our TV's. And of course we will need 3D Theaters to show these movies and shows. They will resemble the Colosseum in shape, with a full 360 degree seating surrounding a massive 3D cinema cube. That way every person in the theater will experience the movie at a different angle, giving much more reason to see the movie again, but in a different seat with a different view. Once we are at this point in time, we will look back at the failed 3D glasses gimmick of today that we were all so excited for at first, but which faded away just as fast as it came. Sorry to go all futurist on you, but I just had to express my sense that there are so many more technological advancements out there yet to be discovered or perfected and made mainstream. We are in the very primitive ages of technology right now, Quantum computers will make us look at our computers in disgust. LiFi will make our WiFi seem like a sloth. And hover cars will make our cars look like child's toys . This is only the beginning...

Isn't there an issue that the LED PCBs are kind of fat (compared to leads) so they block the light of the LEDs behind them? It is nice as it is much easier to make but seems like the PCB idea doesn't work that well.

can you make a tutorial on how to program the cube, do you need to write code or is there a gui ?
@biscuitsalive9 жыл бұрын
Hi. To be honest I had a load of work come in just after I set the cube up. So haven't had a chance to do any programming. (I know, waste) hopefully I will give it a go when I have some free time. In mean time it's just been sitting on my shelf looking pretty.

@@biscuitsalive where is the source of kit , pl ?
@wmoecke9 жыл бұрын
First of all, you do not need to hold the cube that long of a time when tilting it. Just tilt it, then back. Second, you are one demo behind, the one you are trying to get to respond to audio is actually ZPlasma. FFT_Joy would be the next one in line.

Is it capable of turning on all 1536 LEDs? My understanding it it just uses a regular USB power supply, so I'm a bit concerned what would happen if it was fully on. Thanks. (maybe a warning in the manual somewhere?)

I guess. But it is 512 LEDs with a memory, wifi, movement sensor etc. if u were to buy the components it would add up. And I can easily blow £100 on a boring lamp. This one I can programme to have my own 3d animation in it. :)

Yep I had one of those. With the trailer too. They remade those but think new ones are smaller. (Unless I have grown :) ) I was a bit spoilt as a kid I think. Had all the good stuff. Stupidly sold a lot of great stuff. Original 3ft alien figure. Battle of the planets toys. Kept a lot of Star Wars luckily. Have a few SW figs still sealed in blister packs. Hope they are not rotting in the garage.
