If you’re traveling to America it is essential that you have travel insurance. Travel insurance covers you if you have to cancel all or part of your trip unexpectedly and it also covers medical expenses in case of emergency. The cost is nominal and the peace of mind is worth it.

​@claregale9011 It isn't as essential to take out for donestic travel in the UK since you have NHS. In most of the world, even visitors won't be bankrupted by an emergency. Losing money on a flight or hotel is one thing, but being slapped with a medical bill for an emergency in the US that costs as much as a cottage is quite another. 100,000 pounds or more for an emergency visit could ruin most people.

Labor Day is a fine day to dedicate to learning about something related to workers. Current and past conditions, lhow did it change, great and terrible companies, foreign vs domestic companies, statistics, politicians, depts, laws and bills. Maybe join a cause, sign a petition or write a letter to government. Can't do it all, need to pay attention through the year, but its nice to have an entire day to really dig into it.

Two things to know about American healthcare bills. 1) You don't have to pay that day. They send you a bill and all hospitals expect you'll start up a payment plan and are given the opportunity to pay it over many years. 2) Medical debt doesn't count against your credit the same way consumer debt does. I'm not saying these things make it great, but it's at least a tiny bit better than it sounds to foreigners.

Also, you can ask for a "cash price" if you don't have insurance. For example, insurance might charge several thousand dollars for a scan, but the "cash price" might only be several hundred dollars. It doesn't have to actually be cash; it could be paid via credit card,

My friend is from the south of England. She came to the U.S. for a boy. Now her husband of many years. Every 4th of July I tell her Happy 4th and she says, "Happy Traitor Day." 😂 She now has dual citizenship.

25 years ago my 6 month old got sick and had to be hospitalized for 7 days at Children’s Hospital in SF. The bill we received was over $500k. Both my husband and I had medical insurance through our employers (double coverage) so our bill was paid 100%. 😅

It’s 100% created by government interference and 100% caused by running health care as an industry focused on profit. It all stated in 1971 under Nixon with the HMO act. It gets worse every year but to a large degree regular people are not directly affected. However behind the scenes massive amounts are being fought over and the financial consequences of this are a danger to our country. As always it’s a small tribe of people who worship money that always seem to be the root of these kinds of things.

The U.S. has chicken burgers and chicken sandwich. The chicken burger is made with ground chicken similar to ground beef. The chicken sandwich is basically chicken breast seasoned and deep fried.

Each state is like a little country (UNITED States). Whatever you know of the country applies to the states. Each state has its own house of representatives, senate, governor (president equivalent of the state), their own attorney general, Supreme Court, capitals and capitols, etc...

Well said @MarieFara One of the big conflicts over the US history is the right to govern ones self. Rather than the entire immigrated population being governed by the British... the practicality of one government handling all minutia of laws of the entire land... even when we declared Independence, we found it was easier to manage government state to state. While many laws are adopted across all states, the individual states will have a leader (a governor) whose job as state managers, Governors are responsible for implementing state laws and overseeing the operation of the state executive branch.. They manage their duties in the state's capitol building. A state's capitol building is an important structure - it signifies the state government's power and the state's history to its people and any who visit.

And then each county/parish has a county/parish seat, and pretty much every city and town has a city hall. We have a lot of government. It's no wonder there are a lot of arguments over rules here.

My congestive heart failure back in 2018 was $267,000.00 for 17 days in the hospital and the quadruple bypass. Then they found I had stage 3a lung cancer. All of that added another $100,000.00+. Then all the little stuff like a watchman installed in my heart, leg stent to fix blood flow and all kinds of other stuff and constant testing added, I just quit counting. Total out of pocket…wait for it…$0.00 . With Medicare and financial assistance it cost me zero dollars. The good thing about our healthcare is if it is even sort of urgent there is no waiting and even non-urgent is usually only a week or two wait and normally based on what fits my schedule along with open appointment slots. I am alive and cancer free today because of our top notch over priced healthcare that cost me nothing.

I also have CHF... but your heart was a bit more damaged than just CHF. CHF is just a symptom of a more serious heart condition... You obviously needed far more work than the average person with a Quad bi-pass, Stage 3 Lung Cancer, and needing a stent is very costly. Heart Surgeries are the most expensive medical procedures you can have in the U.S. I've been in and out of hospitals for over 2 decades due to my heart conditions... I have Bi-Ventrical Hypertrophy, Cardiomyopathy, AFIB, Pulmonary Edema, as well as COPD (Chronic Bronchitis) so now I require a Pacemaker to keep my heart beating because it can't do it on its own due to the years of damage as this is a progressive disease. I was born with these heart conditions. I can't imagine how much my hospital bills have added up to over the years. I'm sure it has to be over $500k at the least.

@@Meriale46 I have had some of the best heart doctors take care of me and fix me up. My blockage was where they couldn’t do any stents. It was a full quadruple bypass. $267,000.00 just for that. They then tested me a confirmed I did not need a device. They did put a Watchman in me so I am no longer needing to take blood thinners. My doctors keep a watchful eye on me and say I am doing great. All of my surgeries, care, hospital stays and such have cost me $0.00 so I don’t know how I can do better than that.

It was free to you... because you used GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE FOR OLDER PEOPLE. Under 65 years of age, my insurance is $600 per month for being healthy... so that some other sick person can have a $100,000 surgery covered. It's not free. My wife dislocated her pinky. Total bill to insurance...$8,000. I don't want to pay $600 per month so that fixing a finger costs $8,000 that is... "free to me".

Waterfalls off of tree crowned cliffs running into subterranean rivers and caves. Pools of water miles deep that are so crystal clear that it looks like you can pick up the "pebbles" at the bottom. Those aren't pebbles... They're boulders. Abundant wildlife; awesome local food, lots of historical sites, and spectacular atmosphere. If you want to visit Yosemite in California, you need to also hit Northern California and visit the Red Wood Forest! It’s majestic and has some of the oldest and largest Trees on the planet. Some of those trees are so large in circumference that there is a paved road that goes right through a hollow trunk of a huge red wood. You can drive right through the tree. It’s an impressive forest and park. Oh and a doohickey is what you call things you don’t know the proper name of 😂

I was very sick for almost 2 years and spent over 2 months in the hospital. Oddly enough you were talking about letting them cut off your leg and that is exactly what happened to me. I lost half of my right leg. About a month ago I got my latest prosthesis and it was $56,000. I have no idea what my 3 surgeries and hospital stay totalled but I am guessing well over $200,000. I have paid a few minor bills for doctor visits and meds but have never seen a bill for the rest.

From the U.S. Department of Labor: "Observed the first Monday in September, Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. Of course the states here have their own capitols, just like Wales has Cardiff and Scotland has Edinburgh. Most primary schools test on them here, usually around 5th grade, when the kids are age 10-11. I wish I could say I still remember them all. 😅 "Doohickey" is a substitute noun used when you can't recall the proper name of an object, especially when referring to some mechanical part. NY state is much more than just NY City. Here, in Upstate it is very rural. Lots of farm land, apple orchards and, of course the Adirondack mountains, many lakes, wildlife, etc. We travel 30 miles to see our doc, buy groceries, etc. Very beautiful here! Food is amazing...fresh beef, turkey, chicken, pork, fresh from the farms as well as dairy products and eggs. Hunters sell venison, etc. Our neighbor raises beef-a-lo. When my husband and I visited the UK, the beef and pork did not taste the same at all. Different diet, I assume. Here they are free-range and graze mostly on grass, oats, corn, etc.

I have always had to explain to many non New Yorker's about the difference between NYC and New York State. Have had many friends express their amazement at driving to NY and not immediately seeing skyscrapers when the hit the boarder.

A doohickey is what you call something if you can't think of the real name of it. Like "I need to put this screw in the wall, go get me the doohickey" (screwdriver). Arby’s is sliced roast beef on a sandwich roll with sauce. Sometimes melted cheese sauce, too.

PECAN PIE: Prepare pie crust and place pie dough in an 9 inch pie dish. Refrigerate while you prepare the pecan pie filling. In a large bowl mix together sugar, brown sugar, salt, corn syrup, and softened (or melted) butter. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Reserve a few pecans and stir the rest into the batter. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Add a few of the reserved pecans on top of the pie in any empty spots, to make it look pretty. Use a small spoon to cover them with batter. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then lower the oven temp to 350 degrees F and continue baking for about 40 minutes. Check the pie half way through cooking and tent a large piece of greased aluminum foil over the top of the pie. (I tent it high so it doesn't touch the pie filling). You will know your pecan pie is done when you can shake it gently and it is not overly jiggly. If it jiggles a lot when shaking, continue cooking until the center is more set, 5-10 more minutes. Allow pie to cool completely for several hours before cutting and serving.

​@@maryhaynes8633the trick here is to cut back ( down ) on the amounts of sugar u add into the mix for it to be less sweet . I grew up having pecan pie & always thought it to be too sweet until I finally ( almost an adult when I expressed this opinion to my moth , to which she adjusted the recipe & it was marvelous.) So if you could find a baker or just a really good cook / baker or grandmother who is good at baking desserts to try making it more to ur sweetness taste I believe u would love pecan pie as much as I do now... Good Luck...Also , a prepackaged dessert roll called Pecan Swirl Rolls are delicious , not too much Pecans & Not too sweet at all much like a cinnamon roll but with no icing at all much unlike cinnamon rolls which actually I prefer to Pecan Pie , Lord , I can eat a whole package of them with milk , coffee , or cup of tea ( coz they are not very big at all , just 2 to 3 inches across & maybe 1 half to 1 inch deep.) Try some i think they will be more to ur liking , they are delicious ... Enjoy...🥧🥧🥮

Healthcare costs are always crazy in the US. My son was an emergency C-section and 3 week NICU stay. His NICU was $80,000 but we had good insurance and only had to pay $1,000 of that. So it's not always outrageous out of pocket.

My daughter was born 2.5 months early, because I had developed Severe Preeclampsia. She had to stay in the NICU for 100 days. Thankfully I was in the military at the time. So I was only charged $10 per day. (Which still put a big hole in my wallet) Otherwise the bill would have been over $2,000,000.00. I also used the 45 days convalescent leave that the military gives women in the military after having a baby, plus 45 days of my own personal leave that I had accrued and saved, plus 10 days medical permissive TDY. So that I could be by her side. It’s impossible to concentrate on work when any second could be your child’s last. It breaks my heart that it happened at all. But if I had of been working in a regular civilian job, I wouldn’t have gotten paid for missing that much work. I also want to add that $10 per day might seem like a very small amount. But it was taken all at once. So when I received my Leave and Earnings statement, it said $0. So I had no money for food or anything else we needed.

My husband needed a heart transplant in 2004 after heart bypass surgery complications. We had excellent insurance. We received copies of bills our insurance company paid for. It was slightly over a million dollars. We were told some insurance companies cap your benefits at a million. Thank goodness ours didn’t. Our co pay was $5.00 for 3 months in the hospital, and several complicated procedures, and surgeries. My husband was a civil servant, and I worked as a nurse. We lucked out choosing jobs that offered excellent insurance.

Yup, insurance is great if you have the right one. My dad had a rare form of leukemia for the last 9 years of his life and his medications alone were over 250k per month. Plus all the doctor and hospital care. His deductible was $500 per year. God bless Blue Cross.

I was in the hospital for 7 weeks in 2022 with covid and covid related complications and then open heart surgery ,I received a copy of what insurance paid of $717,000,my co-pay was $35.90 percent of Americans are covered by some form of health insurance and those that don't are covered anyway

Yep, I had major surgery four years ago. My total out of pocket cost was $50.00. Thank goodness for good insurance policies. Oh! And I got a bill for 1500 $ from the anesthesiologist, but I refused to pay it, so they put the claim through again, and it was paid for. If you get hit with a big bill, always have them put it through a second time. They like to play games! I once had a claim for contacts and they would only pay for the right lenses and not the left because they were listed on two different lines! There is a waterfall in Yosemite that at a certain time of year when the sun sets it reflects off the water in a way that the whole waterfall looks like lava. I've seen it and it was one of the coolest things I've seen. The water gets bright orange, nature is amazing.

Pancakes are super easy ! You can make them at home with simple ingredients and a skillet. Pecan pie is the best. Arbys is a bit more expensive than other fast food (not crazy expensive) but delicious. They don't usually have burgers but roast beef sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, curly fries, "marketfresh" sandwiches which varies but its lunch bread, meats and vege and cheese - delicioius. About $7 for a large sandwich in Indiana. From West Virginia.. living in Indiana now. So glad he brought them up ! We get made fun of in the US (flyover states) but we feed yall and have Mothman.

I live near Yosemite, and I’m afraid he setting himself up for some disappointment, if he doesn’t get his timing right. Like many of the national parks now it is so darned congested, at least in Yosemite Valley. I hope he avoids the summer, both due to crowds, and the now yearly, fire seasons. Late September or October are the best, still crowded since Covid, but not anything like the summertime. Also should to go there before glacier point Road closes for the snow. You’ve got to see the valley from glacier point, and sentinel dome, both are accessed from glacier point Road. Also get to these areas early in the morning, no later than 7 AM.

My experience over the years is America has very good health care. The problem is it's very, very expensive. I'm over 65 and have Medicare which is NOT free. It costs over $100 a month and is taken directly out of your social security payment. And I also has supplemental insurance which costs me around $300 a month. But between the two I pay nothing at all for doctors and hospital visits.

Hi Lewis! I had back surgery at the end of August. I had complications and ended up staying 6 days instead of 2. I had a hospital room to myself, someone who took my meal orders, a board in my room telling me what day/date it was, and my nurses and techs names, and my treatment plan. The total bill was over $37,000. I have decent insurance, so my portion was $600.00. Oh, I also had a private bathroom/shower in my room. Top notch? Yes. Expensive? You bet. My husband needed to see an orthopedic specialist. He called on a Monday, and was seen the next day.

I’ve driven across Great Plains. There is a stark beauty and majesty about them. Imagine driving 800 miles of various fields and grasslands. Basically, the only trees were in towns or around farm houses. Even the potholes section with their little lakes had grasslands running right down to the water’s edge. What you said is very true. Georgia, the "Peach State," produces 24,800 tons of peaches, but California produces 475,000 tons of peaches each year. Florida is known for it's Oranges (used for juice), and will produce 16 million boxes this year. The eating oranges come from California. We will produce over 45 million boxes this year. We have 1.5 million acres in Almonds, which grow 82% of the world's Almonds. Have an Almond. They're good for you. We grew 10.2 million heads of lettuce this year, by far the most of any state. My son had a spinal cord injury and became paraplegic when he was 6 and we ended up losing our house because of medical debt 10 years later, and I have good insurancee. But the medical supply costs became a part of our budget, as well as PT and OT. We did everything we could but it ended up better. We bought a used modular home and bought a 1.5 acre piece of land in WV (in the Appalachian Mountain area in the eastern panhandle where land is relatively cheap) and we were able to move it there in 2020 at the height of COVID. Should be paying it off in the next 5 years, which never would've happened with the house in town. Things happen for a reason.

It is very much in force (we won the ObamaCare battle). One issue is that to get the expanded MediCare, states were supposed to pay into the system more, and all the maga states decided not to, so they're not getting the full benefit. The states with some sense are getting that full benefit. It should be noted that only 10% of us are without insurance. Some seem to think it's 90%. Nope, ten percent. 🙂

Something not alot of people speak about is Americas social support network. We may have large hospital bills. But if you're poor or unable to pay the bills are either waved or drastically reduced. Also they'll allow you to pay over time instead of all at once. We were given a bill for my first sons birth that was over a million dollars. We had to pay only $2,000 of the million, and that was for the entire procedure of the birth.

Funny thing is I got food from Arby's today September 8 when this video was posted. I had a coupon to get 2 Greek Gyros for $8 so I got that and got a 9 piece boneless buffalo wings (which is a limited time item) for $6 and I got a large curly fries. On the healthcare side I work at Amazon and they provide good health insurance. I had to see a foot specialist about 2 years ago and I had to pay a $50 copay each time I saw the doctor. I have been to the hospital more recently than in my younger years. About a year ago my blood pressure was really high and I thought I was having a heart attack so I went to the emergency room. I had my mom drive me, I wasn't paying for an ambulance. After all the tests they did and the machines they had me hooked up too all was fine with me, and I was in a bed for about 6 hours. A few weeks later I got the bill from my insurance company and the hospital wanted to charge me $20,000 for that. Because I had good insurance I didn't have to pay anything, not even one penny. Insurance in America does help, you might have to pay a little money or no money at all. Now if I have to get a heart transplant or something expensive done then I am going to a VA hospital since I served in the military and I am a veteran.

Some people have been ruined by hospital bills, but most people have perfectly adequate insurance. I had to have surgery for colon cancer and I didn't pay a penny. (I think I did get a bill for $25 for the anesthesiologist, but I totally ignored it and they didn't send a second one.) I also broke my leg while out hiking (in a beautiful National Park) and had to have surgery and then go into rehab for a week or so and I never paid anything out of pocket. The care was great, I had private rooms (except in the rehab place) and actually managed to enjoy the experiences. Now I'm retired and on Medicare. I have yet to see how it will be if I have to be hospitalized. You pay for your healthcare in Britain by having higher taxes than we do. I think that's more fair, but American healthcare isn't as bad as it can seem. We do get into to see a doctor in a timely manner, which I've heard isn't always the case Britain and Canada.

Health care quality: if you do have an aggressive disease like cancer and can't pay... you will still get the best care possible. No waiting 5 months for a biopsy for instance. I had a friend who had a spinal issue that would have rendered her paralyzed from the next down. Despite having no insurance, they rushed her into surgery that day!

Here in the U.S., we have a thing called worker's compensation. I attend physical therapy and many doctor visits ongoing as the factory will not allow me to return until the doctor's approve. Cancer 14 years ago, cost of all treatments, surgical, hospital, chemo, radiation, hyperbaric therapy.....totaled nearly a million dollars.....I paid somewhere around a thousand. When you live here in the US.....getting a job that offers healthcare is really the ideal way to go. My husband worked for the State of California, so we have excellent insurance care. I have had another cancer scare, and all the months of tests and appointments basically are paid out completely by our insurance carrier. If when you plan to come over here, look into getting the travelers insurance that way if you do wind up having an accident, you can get treated and not have to worry about the money!

A funny quirk about Americans, particularly younger ones is that they LOVE to show off extreme medical bills. What's interesting though, is very few people are actually ever paying these bills. Our insurance billing works strangely, in that they send you a statement of cost, which isn't the actual cost, its based on a complicated formula. Basically they say, "Hey, this surgery could have cost $50,000 but we negotiated it so its only $30,000, and your portion is $1000." Then Americans go on social media and show the $50,000 bill to a bunch of shocked Europeans. It's a little bizarre tbh. When my husband was dying, his bills showed over $3M but our actual TOTAL out-of-pocket cost, including his premiums (which is like your healthcare taxes) was $1200 over two years, so basically $50/month. This includes all of his prescriptions, 50+ surgeries, 2 years of hospitalizations, nursing home, at-home health care. There are definitely some people who get effed and proper healthcare is unaffordable for about 25% of the population, but those completely extreme bills arent nearly as common as some Americans like to make it.

I love watching your reactions to the different foods we eat here in the US. Every time someone mentions a pecan pie, you get so excited. Can you get fresh pecans in England? If so, would you like a recipe for this amazing pie. It is one of the easiest pies to make. I personally like to add an additional half cup of chopped pecans that will be distributed throughout the inside of the pie. I just love pecans and lucky enough to live in an area the has Hugh pecan plantations nearby. You should organize one of our Thanksgiving dinners with your friends and family. Give each person a recipe that they will bring with them. That means you will probably have to tackle the Turkey at your location. Plan to eat around 2 in the afternoon because everyone will want to pass out after eating that much food, only to wake up and munch on the leftovers later that evening. Everyone helps with the cleanup before going home and the day is a great memory.

I had a gastric bypass in 2000 and due to some nasty complications I spent 6 weeks in an induced coma in the ICU, and a total of 2 months in the hospital. The bill was 720,000. The hospital discounted that hugely and insurance paid all but the $300 I had paid pre-surgery. I'm sure with inflation it would be well over a million today.

Little known fact, In tv and movies when you see the national capital building in the background you are actually looking at the state capital building of Wisconsin. Wisconsins building is not blocked by other buildings and the city has a limit on how tall a building can be in a certain radius area around the capital square so the skyline doesn't block the capital building.

My husband had a mild stroke. He was in the hospital 2 days. The bill was $47,000 in total. He had 2 insurances (through his employer, and mine) We paid almost $900. Not bad. People are not dying on the streets of the US unless they choose to. We have a very robust social service net work. Approximately 1/2 the country has some sort of state funded/free health care. The majority of others have insurance through their employment. No hospital will deny life-saving care if you are unable to pay.

I love the plains. The best part of the flatlands is how BIG everything feels. With no trees or hills to block your view, the fields and skies seem to stretch forever. You can look out to the horizon and see storms coming from miles away - it’s awe inspiring. I love hills and trees, too, but when I first moved to the East Coast after living in the Great Plains, the trees made me feel hemmed in and claustrophobic.

Healthcare in the US can be expensive, but there is insurance often provided by your work, or available for private purchase. Low income people get free government provided insurance (which in the case of California is completely free for everything, but varies by state), and the elderly get relatively low cost government health insurance. A typical healthcare expense would be a regular doctor visit for a cold, or a regular checkup. Expect a $35 copay for the visit, and insurance covers the rest. Need a prescription, $7 copay, and insurance covers the rest. A very expensive incident, like getting cancer or getting falling off a cliff, expect to have to pay up to your deductible out of pocket (anywhere from $0 to $5k depending on the insurance you have), and then anything above that your insurance pays between 80% and 100%, again depending on your insurance. So something that costs $100k like in the video, your insurance company will first negotiate it way down for you, often around half, so $50k. Then a common deductible is $500, and of the $49500 left you often pay 20%. So for the $100k medical expense, you end up paying $10,400. That sucks, and hopefully that never happens to you, but also understand since we don't have national healthcare we also have lower taxes, and most people will either have enough money saved or can put it on credit and pay it down over time. I'm 44, and the most expensive medical incident for either me or my family has been about $1k out of pocket, and kids get themselves into the ER more than you'd think. So it's not really a huge deal for most people. Lastly, whether you can pay or not, the ER is required to provide life saving care to anyone who comes through the door. They are not allowed to deny service to someone unable to pay. A homeless guy off the street who has a heart attack, and spends a week in the ER and hospital, the hospital just does it for free basically.

A few years ago I had to have my gall bladder removed and I had a stone blocking a bile duct from my liver, but I had a few other problems that made this a more complicated surgery. The bill was $189,000. My surgeons had sent me to a speciality hospital at Stanford University to have this done. I paid a $1500 co-pay and my insurance covered the rest. Mind you, the $189K bill was what the hospital would have charged, but under the allowable charges the insurance was billed $95,000. These totals did not include all the bills, CT, MRI, X-rays, blood test and Drs. visited I had in the months up until that surgery. I don't have to pay for imaging or labs with my insurance and the MRI was $11K itself. Still crazy the amount. My insurance has changed a bit and now, I would have to pay more, but my yearly out of pocket maximum is $5500. So that's the absolute most I would be billed in a year. Not great, but still not the end of the world. They can also get you on prescription costs. My husband was prescribed a drug that costs upwards of $12,000/month. WITH insurance we would still have to pay $200/month for it and he decided it wasn't worth it since it wasn't a guarantee it would really help much at all.

Even though our healthcare is expensive, they legally have to treat you if you go to an emergency room. Since you’re not from here, if you come here and something happens, just go to an ER, get treated, then once you’re done with your trip, go home and ignore any bill they try to give to you. It sounds sketchy but it’s honestly very common. And a lot of our hospitals are much cleaner and more comfortable than in other countries. There’s actually a hotel in one of the hospitals that my sister had her children and included in her hospital stay, was an extra 3 night stay in the hotel on the top floor where she could stay very comfortably but also have access to the medical care of the hospital in case she had any issues after giving birth. That was really incredible.

Most American high schools don't teach very much European history. I think it really depends on the school district and the teachers. I always had teachers that did their best to teach us as much European history as American history. They really wanted us to know everything.

As a lifelong American- the healthcare issue is real, but somewhat over sold. I’ve never been without insurance (which almost everyone gets from their job/their spouses or parents job), but I haven’t ever had a bill over 2-3k. And for people without insurance, as he said, there are usually options for assistance

ER visit. Diagnosed with light water in the lungs and dehydration due to influenza. Stayed for 5 hours. Got two IV bags and a fever reducer. Two bills received later on. Ambulance bill was $75 and the hospital bill was $185. This was in 2015. Have had insurance since then. No medical bills for me to pay for now.

To truly experience all of what America has to offer would take you a lifetime. But, no matter where you go to visit. Go with an open mind and enjoy the experience. Comparing your country to another country when you’re visiting another country kinda waters down the experience. Every corner of this country is different from any other sometimes. Especially if you’re going to tour the gulf coast from one end to the other! But, no matter where you go, you’ll always find kind people who can be a comfort to fill you in.

My boyfriend got in a car accident last year, and had to have spinal surgery. The bill was just under $500,000. Thank god the driver who caused the accident had insurance, because he doesn’t have health insurance. But another example of a bill would be my best friend - who works in the medical field and has great insurance - just had a baby, and still had to pay over $6,000 after insurance coverage. It’s not for the faint of heart here, unfortunately!

I imagine that one that is born into a culture where high taxes and free or cheap heathcare exists would think that their way of life is normal or even superior to USA. America has no glass ceiling and there is no better country in the world for opportunity of success. I pay $10k per year for health insurance that covers just about anything with $0-$100 deductible. $10k is not cheap at $50k income, but it is pretty darn cheap at $200k. My insurance does not rise when I make more money yet, it would be subsidised if I made little money. In contrast, taxes absolutely do rise.

Nationally, Capitol is Washington D.C. Every state has its own Capitol then every county within the state also has a Capitol City. it basically just indicates where that level of government is operating from and typically the most central location for its boarders. The exception is that a City, Town or Village will obviously run its own government from within its limits.

What??!!! The only comparison Arby's has to McDonald's is that they are fast food. Arby's has several things on the menu but what he's talking about is thinly sliced roast beef (several slices, I have never counted) on a bun. I like it with Horsey sauce, they have a roast beef and cheddar. Most people LOVE their curly fries but I love their jalapeno poppers are great! You would like them, a deep fried, cream cheese filled jalapeno that is crumb breaded! They have Bronco sauce to dip it in, which is spicy sweet. No one in their right mind would compare McD's with Arby's!
