Sir, equal opportunities is provided if all categories of students are giving upsc, so why there is different merit for all (is this not a discrimination?)

Yes, it is discrimination but a positive one. Competitive exams can create a illusion of just methodologies of gauging one's "merit". If you remember that in one of the previous classes, Dr. Arora mentioned about the brave experiment of establishing democracy through our Constitution in a highly undemocratic society such as ours. To restore the equilibrium, we will need some manoeuvres. Affirmative action amongst others is on of those manoeuvers.
