S(X) is considered as a complex number in the first place. Then how is it possible to have unit of Planck's constant?? ( Although there must be a unit otherwise the equn wouldn't be possible with increasing degrees of h cross)

As far as I know S(x) represent the Action, which has the same units of h bar (J•sec). also we know that the phase has to be dimensionless. I guess in general S_{1} (x),S_{2} (x), ... can be functions of complex variables.
