FYI GM bracket part 12652395 allows use of the dual alternators. Second, you can swap the 170 amp alternator for one from the same year diesel and get 220 amp. Normally GM used the 220 and 170 in the dual alternator setup but I am going to do dual 220 amp alternators in my 72 K5. Unfortunately laid off and cannot finish just yet. You can also check out the power steering pump from an express van and use a remote reservoir. My 21 Silverado motor came with an express van pump. Will require some rework but it is much smaller.

At 4:42 Have you seen the cam that is coming in the GM crate L8P motor? P/N 12736191 Just putting that seed in your head, it is a factory cam in a factory crate motor that is the same as the L8T. Quote from motortrend- The L8T crate engine is listed at 401 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and a whopping 464 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. So, how much power does a bigger cam and a few valvetrain tweaks bring to the party? How about 122 hp and 79 lb-ft of torque! Yep, the new hotter-cammed L8P puts out 523 hp at 5,800 rpm and a whopping 543 lb-ft of twist at 4,600 rpm!

So a cam swap is deceiving. Yes it gives more mid and top end power but does nothing below 3000 rpm which Is what I drive at 99 percent of the time. This engine is to test how it does pulling and performing for a true daily driver. I am all for a cam swap in a weekend warrior but I decided against it on my build. Even though it would be so easy to do...

There is extensive info online showing that this motor is extremely capable of handling boost. I think Scoggins Dickey has a 2000 hp article and video going around. It is a big ole iron block and excites me!! I cannot wait to get mine installed!
