My riding partner, Trent (@TrentSiggard), had been planning this route for over two years. Living in the Los Angeles area at the time, he often pondered about the source of the city's water. This curiosity sparked the idea for an epic bicycle adventure, one that hadn't been attempted before. Together, we're documenting our journey, each sharing our unique perspective. Be sure to check out Trent's route perspective on his profile @trent.siggard.

Another day, another adventure survived! Thanks to Trent's trusty tools and my handy skills, we tackled the challenges that came our way with enthusiasm. Switching bicycles was a game-changer, with me now riding Trent’s sleek Priority Apollo while he took the reins of my reliable Priority 600X. Our base for the night at Olancha Resort provided a moment of respite, giving us a chance to showcase the cozy spaces available for rent before embarking on the next leg of our journey.
Back on the trail, we traced the aqueduct's path, navigating its twists and turns with ease. Trent's meticulous scouting paid off, leading us through terrain both familiar and uncharted. As we pedaled along the railroad bed, the landscape unfolded before us, a breathtaking panorama of rugged beauty stretching as far as the eye could see.
Our next challenge awaited at the closed conduit section, where we left the railroad behind and ventured onto the LA Aqueduct itself. Guided by a trail marker bearing Trent’s face, we pressed onward, fueled by a mix of determination and curiosity. With the Bureau of Land Management's vast expanse as our backdrop, we embraced the desert terrain, the dirt and concrete path beneath our wheels providing a welcome change of pace.
But as the aqueduct vanished from sight, we found ourselves facing a new obstacle: a steep climb. Yet, today felt different, more exhilarating somehow, as if we were finally hitting our stride. A pit stop at a nearby gas station replenished our supplies and fueled our bodies, readying us for the journey ahead.
With the sun sinking low on the horizon, we set our sights on Horseshoe Joshua Tree, our potential unofficial camping spot for the evening. Amidst the tranquil beauty of the desert, we pitched our sleeping gear, ready to rest and recharge before continuing tomorrow's adventures on our quest to ride the LA Aqueduct.
