Волшебная сцена. Это считается классикой кордебалета. Воистину, будто тени - нежные, лёгкие, полупрозрачные, таинственные . И музыка этого танца такая же нежная и ажурная. Петипа был великим хореографом.

I saw that play so many times.and by many performances groups .NYC Ballet , Ballet de Paris ABT, San Francisco Ballet. , Bolshoi , Kirov but by far the Marinsky dance group do it best ..especially when performing in conjunction with the Mariinsky orchestra... A REAL TREAT .Awesome/Sublime and breath taking ...just my humble opinion....Amid the sweeping vistas and grand temples of mystical India, Marius Petipa's great Russian classic is a glorious epic of eternal love and godly revenge. La Bayadère offers tour de force performances by the Mariinsky's legendary ballet stars as the tale's doomed temple dancer Nikiya, the warrior who betrays her, Solor, and her archrival, Gamzatti. But nothing will prepare you for the spellbinding "Kingdom of the Shades," a showcase for the corps de ballet in gossamer white tutus, floating in perfect synchronicity across the stage, as sublime as angels arriving from heaven .

@@josiecv2798 Yes absolutely true. The Royal Ballet version is far and beyond more fluid and expressive and ultimately more moving and superior. Tuan Vu Well, I”m sorry too, but it’s your comment that’s absolute nonsense. For one, it’s based on a premise that exists nowhere except in your mind. Did I say anything about a dancer having to fit a “look”? Did I say anything about dancers having to have particular set of physical attributes to make them right for a role? Unless your command of English is extremely suspect, you’ll see right away that I did not. I had the great good fortune of seeing the great ballerina, Natalia Makarova, at the advanced age of forty-eight years old, dance Juliet, the part of a fourteen year old girl. And just by her unique genius and her singular way of dancing and creating a story through movement, Makarova succeeded in playing the part of a teenage girl far more convincingly than had she really been still fourteen years old. On the other hand, I saw on an old grainy VHS video of Makarova dancing the part of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. She was completely miscast in my opinion. The ballet had come to her too late in her career and to my eyes, her dancing was too affected, too mannered for me to believe her as Aurora. When I say that a dancer is completely right or completely wrong for a role, I’m not making that judgement on the basis of their physical look or the colour of their skin, I’m making that judgement on each artist’s unique interpretive gifts, and they way they can use them to transform a role and make it their own. Or not.
@fabiesque8 жыл бұрын
Excuse me people! Looks are veeery important in ballet!!! They are essential!!!! What are talking about here?!?! If looks, shapes, features would not matter THEN everybody could do ballet!!! What made dancers like Guillem or Kirkland or Ferri so wonderful and unique? Certainly their artistry, speed, technique, charme and such but also their divine and sophisticated looks!!!!! Somebody is talking about Misty Copeland here (whom I admire totally and love). She has for my taste too strong legs muscles and her way to smile is not really elegant....she almost looks like a bodybuilder and that is not very poetic for the Juliets, Manon and so on. And Sarafanov (who is a superlative academic) as Basilio is the best ever?!? Well....everyone has of course different taste....but...what about Bujones, Bocca, Barysnikov, Vassiliev (both)?!?!
