Just saw the ship today. Been waiting years to see it. Didn’t disappoint. Truly an amazing exhibit.

I have recently discovered that my first American ancestor on my mothers side was Jean L’ Archeveque. He was said to be the 15 year old boy who was the decoy for LaSalle’s assassination. That probably means he was on that ship at some time. This is all so fascinating. I’m not sure if Jean (aka Juan) was a hero or villain. From my research most would consider villain. What if LaSalle had lived, would the French had a stronger hold on the land? Would the Louisiana purchase happened? None the less, recovery of LaBelle is amazing. I will never see her in person so I enjoy these videos and any information. Thank you!

I was there, the coffer dam was built with sheet piling. The piling was not driven in to the sea bed with the conventional diesel pile driver. It was vibrated in.
