I just love Jasper's existential crisis at the reveal that he was related to Zelios. His abandonment by his sire has been a big point throughout this entire series and I don't think he was ever expecting answers, but it is so funny to watch him trying to balance this information along with all the other stuff that happens in this episode.

I'm not as familiar with V5. Would that actually be possible now? Given what we know about Ib and her time as a ghoul, by the old VTM rules, that would have been virtually impossible. She might have an edge in terms of combat skills, but there's no way she would be able to overpower a 100+ year old vampire. Unless the domitor was at least 7th generation, a ghoul couldn't even have more than 1 dot in any Discipline.

@@EyeofCenter It still is basically impossible for a younger lower Gen Kindred to win in single, fair combat against an elder, higher Gen one. It all basically boils down to having more dots and disciplines on the elder's part, while all the younger, low-Gen fledgling would have are boosts to the mending and the blood surge. Not very much if you are facing off someone with, let's say, Fist of Caine that lets you do Aggravated damage to EVERYTHING bar ghosts.

I first played VtM - Bloodlines four years ago after hearing wonderful things. I was immediately 'entranced.' Time passed and I revisited the game this Summer, and I wanted to learn more about VtM. I began watching videos here, and I discovered LA by Night. Immediately hooked, I began watching one to three episodes per night, and I was just finishing the last available episode when a new one was posted last weekend. I cannot begin to express how much I have enjoyed this production: Jason, the cast, and crew have proven the transformative narrative power of an excellent chronicle. I've purchased my dice, the v5 corebook, and I've started looking for other players online (not much participation locally). I've also started outlining a chronicle set in Austin (involving old school 1e Lupines - Muahahaha). Thank you so for much making this wonderful series; it has helped a lot of us find an escape in what is still an unusual time period.

They all seem both wary of each other and determined to work together at the same time. End segment spoilers: Did I read that scene right? Katya just sacrificed herself so Eva would be safe from Aurora? By making their fight enough of a spectacle that it attracted Hunters?

It's not clear whether Katya hoped the fight would draw enemy attention or if she somehow tipped the hunters to the location where she was planning to lure Katya, but in the end it doesn't matter: knowing that even if Eva survived the Inquisition Aurora would come for her, she chose to make the ultimate sacrifice to take out the threat.

From most other clans' perspectives Toreadors play second fiddle to Ventrue in the Camarilla but really they have just as much power but without the same targets on their backs. They are always underestimated, and thus always have the upper hand.

Jasper is Zelios descendent, a discovery I sort of guessed and I can't wait for more scenes with them. So adorable fangirling. While we're on the topic of Jasper, I better get more Jeva scenes...I'm scared for the next two episodes. I hope there will be individual epilogues. Everyone once again we're on point this episode. Why do I have a feeling someone precious will fall during this rescue mission?

I kinda get the impression her clan pulled their more valuable kindred out of LA before things started getting bad. Not unlikely they had a premonition of things going poorly, and so left only less important kindred in the city to maintain their clan's presence while lowering the risk of loosing their more valuable clanmates to whatever danger may come. Considering their clan discipline of auspex, their organization structure, departure of 2 well-established vampires of their clan during the series, and the pattern the anarchs had established of isolating and hitting high-value targets, it would all fit together neatly were that the case.

To be fair, Victor is the one creating the conflict. He claimed domain over an area previously not within his territory. He ordered, not suggested, the 2nd Inquisition be sent to her domain. Both a power grab AND an overstep of position. If she wasn't there to keep Victor in check, he very well may strategically bolster his control and diminish that of the other barons in the name of war games.

I think what people forget is that Anabelle was literally yelled at by Jasper and X to just leave and turn away and later X tried to kill her. It's not even like she didn't have remorse or worries. All of them did stupid things out of panic and worries to loose someone and yet it is Anabelle that is criticized for making Mark a ghoul. The others have their own group of ghouls to feed and command around but it is Anabelle that is suddenly in the wrong here. I just hope the group is going to resolve it and be back together. It's so painful to hear they rather save X then Anabelle. (Also absolutely love this show and especially Jason Carl ♥)

I think the criticism of Annabelle is that she is so loud about being righteous and then turns her boyfriend into a ghoul so that she can talk to him about her current life, her being a naïve but idealistic hypocrite is kind of a big part of her character.
