Oh my god. 1:48:45 - Isaac just flat out saying "That's a cute power. I'll burn a willpower and move because I want to." ....and that sassy pen snap and hand wave, just to let Simone know he's in control despite acquiescing, GOD DAMN. I love Isaac being the unflappable rock. He doesn't need to be part of the Rose Garden or the Blue Bloods, or the Ministry, all enforcing or effectuating power, he just exudes it through iron will. I love it.

@@tearsong8744 - It's fun to see. Victor RARELY used his powers, actually riding on pure charisma to convince people and only pulling the trigger "for the greater good". Meanwhile, Isaac uses his powers only when he wants to stay in control. It's a good contrast of character builds who have Dominate as a power.

I'm not seeing anyone mention this in the comments, so... Fuego is on the fast track to become something akin to a Sabbat. She's got no issue with killing if it even remotely serves her interests (her first feeding victim, the security guard), is obsessed with gaining power (a Ventrue trait, but even by their standards it's extreme), seems to idolize The Beast (this is the first episode she's ever talked back to it, usually she's enthusiastically going along with it's desires, and she straight up said she saw Rey's beast as powerful and something she wanted), and uses the gifts of her blood the most at the table (constantly using Blood Surge, immediately using Dominate, etc). Contextually, New York was Sabbat territory and the Camarilla booted them. Making the Camarilla gentrifiers and the Sabbat the locals. Given Fuego's feelings towards gentrifiers this is an interesting parallel that adds to her eventually going Sabbat, or at least acting like one. I absolutely love what Rey did in The Pit. Just before going in he said he was going to have a conversation with his new boss. Now in the context of the conversation he was having, on the surface it seems like he's talking about Richter. He isn't. He's talking about The Beast, and the point of going into The Pit was to prove he was in charge and could control it. That's why he acted like he lost, and why he says afterward that he hopes to win "when it counts". Similarly to Fuego, this is a hint of Sabbat ideology. Attempting to prove mastery of The Beast instead of repressing it is one of the goals of most Paths of Enlightenment, and combined with his personality he's a shoo-in for Path of Power and the Inner Voice. Do I think this will turn into a Sabbat Pack over time? No, World of Darkness has been pretty clear so far that players aren't meant to be Sabbat, and there isn't enough in the official source book to convert (removing Humanity without a replacement makes remorse tests and Diablerie break down). Is it interesting to see the parallels and dream? Absolutely!

Being a monster and deciding to kill for power and not caring is something most vampires in world of darkness feels. Fledgelings like the coterie try and cling to their humanity. Some drop that early. Most older kindred in the Camarilla and Anarch movement would have no problem kill like Fuego kills. The Sabbat is a waaay more bloody gang then someone who just have no problem killing. If you get into that crowd, you do not only have no problem killing mortals, you live for it. Humans are called bloodbags, they have hunts on rooftops and have no problem leaving gore and blood after they leave a town. Saying Fuego is fast track to become them is a bit much. They are a whole different league of killers.

I don't think she idolized the Beast so much as did not understand it. Watch Aabria's face as Fuego when they're learning exactly what a wight is. As an uneducated kindred her Beast was telling her to do what her darker instincts already wanted to do and giving her the power to do it and the power to (apparently) evade consequences. It's only now that she's learning there are non-mortal consequences to doing so. I suspect after this episode we'll see her trying to push back more against her Beast though time will tell if that's too little, too late.

Its kind of wild that some Tzimisce and the Ministry are in the Anarchs in v5, like that is one sinister duo man. The Anarchs need be careful to not let the Serpents and the Dragons gain to much influence in the factions, cause I can easily see the Anarchs turning into the Sabbat 2.0 with those mad lads running the show.

The Brujah and Gangrel views on freedom vs the Tzimisce and Ministry view on it, is interesting and these clans kind of mirror each other. Both the Brujah and Ministry want freedom for others and themselves while the Gangrel and Tzimisce are more focused on thier own freedom, but how each of these clans express these ideals varies wildly. I just think that the Tzimisce and Ministry would probably be more efficient at getting shit done then the Gangrel and Brujah, which where the concern comes from.

I feel like watching this coterie is like watching a machine on its last legs bouncing, bellowing smoke and spewing its rivets that will explode the second one those rivets bounce back from the walls. Rey and Fuego are seemingly in a competition of who can cause most problems down the line. These "little mistakes" are getting into "meet the sunrise" territory. Soon only the Sabbat would applaud their behavior. Insanely reckless. And the minister better hope that her position within the church is secure if she is willing to throw her weight around like that or there might be someone else getting an easy promotion. There are extremely rough enemies at play in these nights. The Sabbat seemingly vying to get their city back, barony weakened and Camarilla being possibly undermined by a ideologist from the Anarchs. It won't be smooth sailing and it seems that the coterie's ship is anything but weather proof. Enjoying it though.

I'm totally with you on this. GINO and Baby Slutsa Vamp are like watching a house slowly catch fire. Neither one can control even the mildest of impluses and they are putting the pedal to the metal driving that van at full speed into the wall of disaster. I just hope they don't take Isaac and Seriph with them. Seriph is mostly harmless and is still a little run by her emotions, but she knows when to act and when to hold back. Isaac is the only compitent character in the coterie and the only one likely to survive the Chronicle in general. Of course he's also the only character that doesn't have an emotional breakdown everytime someone gets a hangnail either.

I love that Serif gave Rey recognition for urging them to move on from the door with the captive kindred at the start of the season. At that moment it seemed like a heartless thing to do but the reveal of his crimes shows that Rey was right, glad that Serif acknowledged that.

Episodes like this are some of my favorite type of vtm episodes as while it may seem "slow" a LOT is actually happening within the PCs and NPCs. *SPOILERS* We see a larger wedge forming between Serif and Rey as Serif sees Rey as less of a noble if overstepping person and more of what she sees her Sire as. For Rey's part I think he went into the pit because he NEEDED a win, ANY win. To lose to the beast humiliated him further and caused him to lash out at the person who truly wanted to help him. Isaac seems to be taking a mama bird approach with the coterie now and I don't blame him. I initially thought the Dragon would see them as HIS, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe if they prove themselves more. Fuego is HUNGRY. Hungry for attachments, hungry for control, hungry for power, and hungry for freedom. In her hunger she didn't give af about punking Consuela out, despite the troubles it may bring her and her coterie. I forsee an attempt at diablerie in her future. Simone (who I STAN) is by far the most powerful, influential and dangerous kindred the coterie has met by far, and they should love her and despair now that they have her favor. Settites/Ministers are the most invasive clan of kindred and by the time you realize they're in your city, it's MUCH too late. Simone has shown in this episode that she is deeply imbeded in Anarch and Camarilla (that gun was from Fuego's sire I just know it) politics while owing allegiance to neither. She was able to punk out Consuela and make her love it in her own damn club without any fear of revenge from the Baron. I'm willing to bet money that if push came to shove, Simone's cultists would kill and die for her. Also I think when she asked the coterie "Are you hungry?" she was asking TWO questions but the coterie didn't catch it. I look forward to see if the coterie can maintain their humanity under the Serpent Queen's loving gaze.

I watched Season 5 episode 1 of LA by Night because a streamer I liked was in it (Bryan Dechart) and it was fun but super hard to keep up with the story, and NY By Night has been really fun and inspired me to go to season 1 of LA by Night and it's making a lot more sense.

Her likely standard is for that of Kindred, presuming she isn't all talk. The trash she was referring to was the Thin-blood, Francis. In addition to throwing off her message she revealed that she was of the mentality that Duskborn aren't proper Kindred. From her point of view it doesn't qualify as a double standard at all. She's just one of the more awful racist vampires.

@@MorinehtarTheBlue = Yes, but to claim Mortal and Kindred alike, deserve Autonomy, it is her lack of self observation that leaves her open to criticism. She didn't just brush off the Thin Blood. She also told the Coterie to brush off the people just outside of the VIP section, as though they were beneath them, while grandstanding her Soliloquy about being magnanimous to all. Such to the point of Autonomy is "The" virtue to live by; as she orders around her Ghouls which she bound to her service.
