Valley Sports Cards 6:42 looks really homey, really nostalgic, and brings me memories of being a kid in the 80s/90s. don't need modern interiors/design to draw me/others in.

How awesome! This shop brings back so much nostalgia. I was a 10 year old back in 1988 and would go here to buy the new Garbage Pail Kids😂

This was so great! So glad you stopped by Valley Baseball Cards, I used to go there in the late 80s and ironically I was just back in SoCal in April and wanted to stop in but they were closed (Mondays) so your video gave me the joy of seeing it again! The last time I was there, maybe 10 years ago, I had a great conversation with Alex. Such a friendly person!

The name Max Himmelstein brings back many memories of buying baseball cards in the San Fernando Valley. Although I never met Max or visited his store, he was legendary in purchasing Hostess products. I would often visit the Hostess Bakery Outlet in Van Nuys next to the Budweiser brewery - purchase boxes and boxes of Hostess products and Twinkies just for the baseball cards. Every so often, the clerk would say they were sold out as one gentleman came in and purchased their entire stock. Came to find out that it was Max beating me to the cards. Thanks for bringing back fond memories.

I worked for Max for 7 years in the 1990’s. He used to tell the story of how retrieved the Hostess box panels by dumpster diving the back of the Hostess bakery. One day while his daughters waited in his station wagon, he fell into the dumpster while wearing a suit (he was a spice salesman prior to opening the store) and spooked the Hostess employees who were just in the process of throwing out some expired products. He had to explain to them that he was there collecting the boxes and not looking to eat the food.

Damn, a ton of nice stuff in these shops and I know hockey isn't as popular in California but I wish the sport got a bit more love!

I agree ! Gretzky played in LA for almost a decade and enjoyed a lot of success there even if they didn’t win the Stanley Cup (losing to my beloved Montreal Canadien 😉)! I’m always surprised how Hockey doesn’t get more love in the US! It’s definitely a shame that the sport is backseat to Baseball basketball and football! In canada, hockey is king and other sports are distant second!!

I never traded or even sold my cards before, i only pull them and store them. I saw his kid trade cards based on value. So if i went to one of those shops with lets say 10k-40k worth of high end cards, would i be able to trade for a Michael Jordan rc graded 9 or 9.5? If so, id love to own one its my holy grail card since childhood. If i could only own 1 card, it would be an MJ rc.
