Nice video! I hope to hike LaCloche Silhouette next year. Looks like you did it at a pretty leisurely pace with some good relaxing times at camp. Those spoons are the junk! I've broken about a dozen of them. Insulated pads are great. Emily's foam pad is definitely warmer than yours. Grouse are hilarious.

Just found your video researching this trail. I completed the SCT this summer and was trying to figure out how this trail compared. Alltrails has it rated "strenuous" but the SCT rated "moderate". I was like damn, if this is harder than the SCT no way I can make it.

The footing is definitely more treacherous, lots of broken rock and boulders at weird angles. I'd say it's definitely strenuous. Would be very hard pressed to do a 25-30km day on this trail. For us anyway.

What campsites did you stay at? I'm planning a trip for early Sept and I want to get an idea of the routes people have taken.

Grrreat video! So good to see the variety of terrain in the opposite direction. Is the egg crate thing new? Looks comfy.

Haha yup, that's Emily's sleep/sit pad for extra comfort and warmth

Hey Emily, my wife loves your hiking shorts. Who makes them?
@PhilKidding3 жыл бұрын
They are MEC running shorts, but she bought them 10 years ago. Hopefully they still make them.

Hi James! Just to add to my husband's response, the shorts have built-in underwear which is super useful especially for backpacking trips!

Thanks. She has a bunch of awesome MEC stuff that she loves that they no longer make. Me too for that matter. Anyway, she is surfing the mec site right now. Great video and thanks for replying.

During the trail, can you just camp/tent anywhere for the night? Or there is a specific area hikers need to be?
