Four chains was the safest option, but at that time, due to different circumstances, only two were available. Waiting was not an option and some risk had to be taken. Thanks and good day friend.

Hi Jan. I understand your concern for safety when holding the piece. The ideal would be to hoist it with four chains, but due to different circumstances there were only two available and risks had to be taken as the situation required it. In these cases it is necessary to lift the piece well level and operate the crane with delicacy to avoid swinging as much as possible. Greetings

@@TheMetalRaymond You could get the crane manufacturer or your maintenance dept to include a crawl/creep button. Rotates all motors - up/down, left/right and front/back at 5% of its rated rpm. Even better would be to provide for a VFD to the up/down function. I used to have them in my machine-building factory way back in 1985, so it should be a breeze to get it done now. What this helps is to set down or lift the load at an extremely slow movement - helps in picking and placing loads, especially on machine beds and on supports on the machine bed.

Excelente video, cuanto tiempo le tomo preparar el útil para colocar la pieza sobre la bancada de la mandrinadora? Los rieles de tren fueron rectificados? Por fin se ve un plano en auto cad, gracias!!!!

Los raíles se colocaron sin rectificar, en bruto. No era necesario porque su misión era de apoyo para los extremos de la pieza que a su vez no tiene la base mecanizada. Para nivelar la pieza se consigue a base de forrar la base de apoyo. El proceso y los preparativos de colocación de los railes lleva su tiempo ya que es necesario colocarlos en su justa medida para no recibir sorpresas a la hora de colocar la pieza y que todo coincida. Se llaman viradores. Su función es hacer girar grandes y pesadas estructuras cilíndricas como depósitos o calderines. Al posicionar estas piezas mediante su giro se realizan todo tipo de trabajos sobre ellas. Gracias y un saludo amigo.

Se llama Mandrinadora, Tiene cierto parecido a las fresadoras en su forma de trabajar pero existen grandes diferencias entre ellas. Las Mandrinadoras son máquinas de gran envergadura y muy versátiles en su desempeño.
