This movie was an epiphany to me, along with few other ones. I happened to watch it in 91, I believe, and things were never the same to me ever since. I do still treasure this nickname I got after this movie... The 90s, the last decade before movie went to shit.

It's simple but clever how he always sets up his service revolver with the first shot empty in case someone tries to take him hostage. In the US remake, they probably couldn't find the same revolver model on short notice so they switched to a semi-auto. Even though it has a safety to disable the hammer/firing pin, Gabriel Byrne's character always left the chamber empty too. I wasn't expecting that the first time I saw the movie (the one with Bridget Fonda).
