I got to thinking about aerial firefighting equipment used in forest fires, helicopters, and planes that scoop water out of lakes and dump it in front of the advance of the fires. There's plenty of ocean water. Salt mitigation and cleanup afterward.

Ppl use a 4’ PEA GRAVEL border around your home, it can help. Look up the one home left in the Maui fire. It wasn’t an accident, they were prepared. I’ve lost everything in a house fire, I can’t imagine how devastating it would have been if everyone who came together to help me would have been in the same position, all the hotels gone, and all my local haunts vanished.

These are mostly electrical and gas fires. Notice none of the trees and grass is burnt! The wild fires started the event. Then electrical lines caught fire and blazed through the entire community. Then the gas lines exploded. These are home explosions not just a wild fire. That’s why the street trees and grass are not touched. The utility companies should have turned all the gas off. Moving forward the electrical lines should be placed underground or just use solar is high fire risk areas. Act of nature magnified by poor leadership and incompetence. Owners should file a class action against the State, City and utility companies!

Houses have many arears that burning embers will adhere to, way too many to fight. Many trees species have adapted to withstand fire including thick bark which gives a certain amount of insulation and burning embers will not find the same "ember catching areas" that exist on man made houses.
