This movie was a straight up 10. Honestly felt like I was seeing real magic while watching it, it's so full of love and energy and I'm so thankful to Damien Chazelle for making it happen!

Would you give Gosling & Stone 10 out of 10 for their singing and dancing?
@BreakingBanter7 жыл бұрын
Andrew Smith Compared to Singin In The Rain or West Side Story? No. Within the context of the film which wanted the singing and dancing to feel real, pedestrian and accessible? Yes.
@andrewsmith747 жыл бұрын
Breaking Banter Who would want the singing & dancing in a musical film to be pedestrian?! I know several people who've watched La La Land & hate it. They said that the film is boring, especially in the middle. They said that Gosling's character is arrogant & unlikeable and that Stone's character has no personality.
@BreakingBanter7 жыл бұрын
Andrew Smith The director wanted it that way? Because it's supposed to be about real people? That's fine, I can't argue with people that hate it, because that's up to them. But this is a great, fully realised vision that's a very exciting slice of cinema.
@andrewsmith747 жыл бұрын
Breaking Banter The director said that he wanted the singing and dancing to be pedestrian?! In musicals, the cast stop what they're doing to break into song and dance routines - musicals aren't supposed to be realistic. What is important in a musical is that the singing and dancing are of high quality. Have you ever heard anyone say that Gosling and Stone are excellent singers and dancers? You can't counter people who say that the film is boring in the middle? Or that the leads aren't likeable?

Hello Chiara, I just saw La La Land, I have a question for you or & anyone in You Tube Land? I loved the movie!, but it seemed like when I saw it in the theater, it was shown in soft focus, how was the focus where you saw it? I watched this movie at theater with my girlfriend in our anniversary and I'll never forget this movie and the epilogue scene. I just cried for the entire scene because I'm a musician too and I was unemployed for 5 weeks back then and I couldn't stop feeling an useless trash bag... After the movie we went to a rock bar and there was a jazz band playing and that was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had in my life. We're together for 9 years now and I know that, when we'll have like 30 years together I'll still play city of stars to her and we'll remember that night. Thank you for this incredible movie and remember: loves aways finds you in the end. Also sorry for the bad English, I'm a Brazilian btw. Cheers :)

I saw this on December 7th, 2 days before release at a screening. I fell totally in love with the movie. It has got to win the Oscar for best picture this year 2016. I don't see anything getting remotely close. The acting, the chemistry, a modern day musical that's colorful, bright, engaging, musically engineered to rapture your senses with a bittersweet and satisfying ending. Ryan and Emma steal every single scene they are in. I'm a man that loves superhero movies and scifi...and teared up a good 3 to 4 times during this movie, and admit without shame, I want to go back to the world of La La Land. I will purchase tickets to see this several times and buy it when it's available for home entertainment release, especially if it's on 4K Blu-Ray. Go see this.
