A similar thing happened recently in a match Juve-Inter, where some Juve fans shouted monkey chants at Lukaku. Understandably he got upset and by rulebook the referee had to give him a yellow card, thus he couldn't play the next match in Coppa Italia. However the president of Serie A, Gravina, revoked the yellow card as unjust, thus allowing him to play. It was the first time in history a president of Serie A overruled a referee's decision. @@Vizeh Living in Spain and being from Portugal I experienced this kind of racism, spanish people aren't used to inmigrants and a lot of people (specially football fans) blame everything with their country because of us. I have to say 10 years ago you couldn't join villages and towns without being outcasted heavely, now it has evolved to place where most normal people dont hate foreigners but football fans are another story ahahahaa. I still think he only got mad because he lost, there is no chance in hell in all their wins that he didn't get worse shout onto him (You can make an argument that it stacks and finally bursts). It still very ugly for fans to shout all that and become full on frenzied monkeys, I can assure you that is a faction that will never change. PD: They don't insult him cuz he is black, just because he is from the opposition and a foreigner. Also spanish is very curse heavy when people get rallied or are joking around, that sure doesn't help one bit. If Vini was white, it would have been the same situation but with more original insults. EDIT: 3:03 I hear "tonto" which is "dumb" + "stupid", in my best effort i can hear "Monto" which now that I think about it could be a wordplay quite easily. Vinicius has become the main target because he went from the missing clear chances meme to a wonder kid and that infuriates a lot of rivals. But LaLiga has has this problem for some time now. The Williams brothers at Athletic Club have received racist insults and online harassment. Diakhaby (València) also suffered the same abuse 2 years ago by a Cadiz player, but nobody moved a finger for him at LaLiga. Honestly I can't be surprised we've come to this. LaLiga current president, Javier Tebas, has ties to the Fuerza Nueva party, a far right party with links to francoism and fascism and has also expressed sympathy for Vox, another more influential right wing party. He's always dismissive of racism in the stadiums and in the competition. On the other side you have the media, who treat racism as a matter of teams and not a deep-rooted, transversal problem to the sport. With Vinicius it's become disgusting. They blame the victim on being too provocative and "look at your other black teammates who don't get into trouble". Even from madridist media, there have been columns and voices telling him to "stick to football, keep playing, focusing on the game". These two factors are, to me, the difference between LaLiga and the Premier League. The two leagues might have the same levels of racism in the stands, but in the Premier League I perceive a unanimous opposition from every entity involved that I just don't see in the Spanish League.

I have been to EPL games, where abusive fans get singled out by other fans, and are ejected immediately, immediately. As in identified by those sat in the stands and ejected by stewards, the video of almost that entire stadium chanting abuse and only 8 bans were issued, La Liga, Serie A, RUS League, serious serious problems with fans, and with players, I perceive these leagues as being way more racist than the prem, there are bad apples here and more action should be taken but as stated in the video, this isn't about one league or the other, this is about education and normalisation, more and more, people are normalising racism, the reason we can't kick it out of the sport is simply there is too much money at stake to put a hard stop, plus not wanting to punish good fans etc, harsh examples' need to be made at every level of the clubs and their fans. Extreme yeah but I am sick of this racist fan issue, I don't get why people are so narrow minded.

To be fair, Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the few clubs in Spain that completely banned their ultras from their stadiums (Barcelona's Boixos Nois were banned from the Camp Nou in 2004 and Madrid did the same with Ultras Sur in 2013). That's not to say some of them can't still access the stadium as casuals, but at least they have been forced to keep a lower profile and their presence and the incidents caused by them have been reduced drastically. Same can't be said for teams like Atletico and Valencia, where the radicals pretty much rule the stands and even have a degree of power and influence on the clubs themselves.

As for this video though, mate. A masterpiece, racism is unforgivable in any context, I think of England as being a country with a real racism problem and I'm not saying it's not, however when you hear racist abuse in England it's usually dealt with pretty quickly and strongly and is note worthy in national news, from this video it sounds like it's a pretty common issue in Spain. I respect the hell out of how you have transitioned from FIFA videos to being one of the best documentary style football channels on KZbin mate. Keep up the good work! As for future videos I'd love to see, the fall and rise of Stockport County could be a good video! I'm biased I know but we were looking at the League 1 playoffs before we entered admin, got relegated twice in a row out of the football league for the first time in over 100 years, 2 years later relegated again to regional football for the first time. Stagnated for 6 years, got our act together financially slowly rebuilt, won the Conference North in 2019, in January 2020 we were taken over by an incredibly wealthy owner with ambitions of getting to the championship. Nearly made the playoffs in 2020 before covid, won the conference after an epic title race in 2022 and now we're in the League 2 playoff final and trust me Mark Stott's ambition doesn't end there!

Only way clubs can avoid blame is to stop offence proactively or fish out perpetrators if not possible. % of Broadcast revenues sound harsh but folks in non-white countries pay TV money that forms part of these revenues, if we assume such behavior getting too bad will affect viewership, such punishment makes sense. Valencia CF, in line with the club’s permanent commitment against racism and violence in all forms, announce that the police has identified a fan who made racist gestures at Real Madrid’s Vinícius Jr in the Matchday 35 match at Mestalla on May 21st. The club are also working along with the police to confirm the identity of any other potential offenders. From the moment that the unfortunate events occurred, the club have analysed all the available footage, working alongside the authorities as rapidly as possible to clarify what happened in order to be able to act quickly and forcefully. Valencia CF have proceeded to open a disciplinary case, will apply the maximum level of severity, including a lifetime stadium ban against the fans involved, and is working closely together with the authorities. The club strongly condemn this type of behaviour, which has no place in football and society and does not correspond to the values of Valencia CF and our fans. Valencia CF have taken a strong stance against racism and have previously acted with the same forcefulness in 2019, with a lifetime ban for a fan who made fascist gestures to Arsenal fans in a UEFA Europa League game

I'm gonna write in Spanish because I want to express myself as good as I can: La verdad que en España tienen un grande.

Hope those responsible are held accountable, and that includes the club. I would expect minimum games played behind doors, fines and even point deduction (due to Valencia player retaliatory actions). It disgusts me that this behaviour continues in football.

Why would he get in trouble for "retaliatory actions"? In most cases of carding players the initiator is the one that gets the harshest punishment it has always been that way because they are the ones who escalated the situation. Vinni over reacted like an idiot and got carded for it, why anyone thinks he shouldn't have is beyond me. There are very strong rules about interaction with fans and always has been, FIFA goes out of it's way to have every league shove those rules into the players faces as much as possible to minimize incidents as much as possible, Vinni knew this and lost his head, he got punished for it plain and simple

@@victorkreig6089 because the reaction by the GK to grab Vini and the other player to put him in a choke hold are not excusable. If they were trying to calm Vini down and separate him from the crowd they completely failed. If those players ignored the racial taunts from the crowd and couldn't read that Vini was distressed and angered by the taunts, then they are part of the problem. Vini had obviously reached a tipping point after copping it from other club supporters for months, not to mention a hanging effigy. La Liga have done minimal and it's now got to this point. Players who point out racial abuse should not be punished for it.

@@ShadeyFella lmao your bias is showing The rules state not to taunt the fans plain and simple, the rules are even harsher for players that ignore this rule in Italy. Had he not lost his cool no ody would have ever tou he's him therefore they aren't going to see anything because that's how the rules work Vini needs to grow up, you don't see Tyrell Malacia getting mad when people talk trash to him, you don't see him get mad when players on the field do it either. Because he grew up, Vini still hasn't done that

@@victorkreig6089 Rules are rules, but when you're constantly being taunted and targeted for your skin colour, emotions will boil over. Vini has been copping this for months while La Liga have done minimal to stamp it out in their competition. I hope Vini's red card is overturned, Valencia are punished, and La Liga seriously act on this growing stain. There's following the laws, then there's considering human nature. Both need to be considered equally in this event.

This is absolutely awful and action should be taken against fans who did this by banning them from all league matches. However I do believe that as professional athletes, vini shouldn't have let the fans get to him. His best reply wouldn't have been to confront them rather to prove them wrong by being his best self.

Isn’t this sport supposed to be the one that brings the whole world together even despite our differences? Our differences are what makes humanity beautiful. It’s not something to tear each other down for. People are gonna be different than you, whether it’s racially, culturally, sexually, humans are diverse, its not something to fight its something to love and accept.

Humanity has a serious problem. The solution is education, less religon and simply a willingness to meet all types of people.

Do you think the entire club and fanbase should be ostracized for the actions of few individuals? Would you be ok for being punished for something someone else did or said who lives in the same city as you?

Vinicius provoked them first. I am not in any way defending racist behaviour, it is not right for people to default to racism when provoked, but vinicius is not this little angel you think he is. He is a sore loser and provokes a lot of fans. Before valencia fans started chanting he shushed them and told them they will be relegated. He deserved to be booed but not racially abused. Commented this because you might not watch la liga and dont know the whole story. Video seems a bit rushed
