the producers was the same. Henning was based on Broadway, and the needed an artist for tournee, for show in Hennings style. So they choose Copperfield. For this the "stage philosophy" is so similar. Characters, instead of it, are different. Both break the classical magician style and costume, but Doug is a "flower power guy", Copperfield is a middle class "american way" success man. The second more conventional, conservative, and ideal for the great audience. Doug more "revolutionary" and less "mainstream", ideal for young "beat and psychedelic generation".
