The Luminaire is a wonderful little shot timer that can be added on to just about any espresso machine with a 3-way solenoid valve. It takes just a few minutes to install on the Linea Mini and adds the one thing we feel this powerhouse of an espresso machine is missing.

It's maybe worth mentioning that the cable "exit" from the timer can be easily changed. The timer has 4 exit holes you can choose from: up, down, left, right. This gives much more flexibility when placing the timer on the machine.

hi what if the machine has few seconds pre infusion? so the solenoid start stop and then start again automatically so the shot ? time would be in correct

Correct. The Luminaire shot timer is activated by the solenoid, so if it opens and closes to perform a pre-infusion the timer will start, then stop. Then it will reset and start again when the solenoid is opened again.

Is this devise supposed to be compatible with the new version of the La Marzocco Línea Mini that comes now with the new Wi-Fi and the app? The reason I ask is because I just installed this device as you have illustrated here and the it does not do anything when I start it by attempting to brew. The screen never turned on at all. I was told to check the battery by running a magnet near the sensor and if shows Ér on the screen it indicates the battery has charge and is working.

Currently, they only offer this model which is not backlit.

I wish for $90 the screen would be of better quality. It looks like a Dollar Store calculator screen.

The newest models of the Linea Mini are compatible with the La Marzocco Home App, which does include an integrated shot timer. The time is on your phone. However, it will automatically start as soon as the brew lever is flipped.

Would this work on a Profitec Pro 500 with PID?

Hey Vernon. In short, no. The Luminaire shot timer has to be attached to a 3-way solenoid valve. The Pro 500 doesn't have one of these since it has a mechanical E61 group head.
