What's with the majority of yachts these days that have no bimini? How in the hell are you supposed to sail this thing places without getting skin cancer?

Exactly.! They are marketed and shown this way to make the yacht sleek and uncluttered. But it is clearly NOT reality, because the 1st thing any owner will do is put a dodger & bimini on most any yacht (to provide some Shade!).

Two major issues on a beautiful boat. Cabin top transitions to Gelcoat fiberglass from Teak. When handling deck activities having a step or a transition from a nonskid surface is a real danger. A gradual transition on deck would eliminate the step. A nonskid 3" area at the edge of the roll of the cabin would keep dirt and slime from the surface. It is a fantastic design. The human interface is not perfect on any device.
