Hey Gordon.. nice channel with great information about La Paz.. thanks.. I've read that La Paz occasionally has supply issues.. like empty store shelves because of the isolation from road networks.. is that true.. I'd hate to run out of my fave peanut butter 😂
@stevefritz518210 ай бұрын
It's not an issue really. It happens but not on any regular basis. Most everything comes down the single lane highway from Tijuana. It is a good highway but cetainly a challenge for truck drivers (all drivers). It makes all good more expensive and limited on brands. Peanut butter is for the wealthy. We bring ours down from the States.

Hi Bonnie - indeed I live in a totally local neighborhood with all Mexican neighbors... and I love it. If you're keen to look at real estate here, I'd be happy to provide a neighborhood tour where I can show you which neighborhoods tend to feature different demographics! - gordon@bajaliferealty.com! Cheers

I plan to visit the area with my husband, who's originally from there, sometime next year. We plan to visit his home and relatives and perhaps even look at some other properties for purchase. Since he's a natural Mexican citizen, I plan to get dual citizenship, and we might retire there once we're old enough.

Hey! Thanks so much for commenting! Absolutely - I'd love to help out. Our friend Brighton just spent a few weeks in Guadalajara and is petitioning Katelyn and I to take a vacation there - can't wait! For sure I am in your corner on your first visit to La Paz. I recommend booking really anywhere - La Paz is generally very safe and has so many great neighborhoods. If you want to really feel the pulse of the city, book close to downtown Centro or Esterito, so that you can walk - the Malecon & downtown neighborhoods are super fun on foot, especially in the evenings. Be certain to hit me up - I offer a touristy "welcome to La Paz" neighborhood tour where we visit all the major scenic spots & landmarks, grab coffee at an amazing hip spot, and I'll even include tacos. If you're already gearing up for a real estate purchase, I'll be sure to pepper in some good listings that'd suit your criteria. Give me a call or shoot me an email and we can deep dive into your particular wishlist for La Paz! 👍 ~gordon@bajaliferealty.com, +52 612 232 2569!

Loved your video. I need to re-view and take notes; as we live in Todos Santos and should learn to enjoy LaPaz more than we have. Sadly have had to go to LaPaz a number of times due to a court mess. Some in B.C.S. make their money by suing their employers, as the courts favor the employees 70% of the time. It truly is their hobby. They don't have stress from such a thing taking place; they just sit back and wait for their measly few thousand dollars after two years of mentally torturing the 'hand that fed them'. Happy to learn about the areas and the restaurants.

What are the price ranges of real estate of the communities you have presented in this video
@bajaliferealty65068 ай бұрын
It really varies tremendously depending on the size of the apartment or house, or the year it was made, and so many other potential factors. We've watched a lot of swings in pricing over the last couple of years.

Can one person live comfortably on 2800 a month there? I would want to buy a small home or townhouse so I wouldn't be renting. If you drive down from CA can you keep your car there and just transfer your tags to Mexico plates?
@bajaliferealty650611 ай бұрын
Hi, Gord here. Your budget sounds very reasonable - the costs of living here are much lower than you might be used to. Still, the government here has minimum income requirements for foreigners seeking temporary or permanent residency, so best to check with a relocation expert to see if you qualify... Or if you were only wanting to stay for up to six months at a time, a lot of folks enter on a visitor's visa and just head back up to the border. As for your vehicle, you can drive foreign-plated cars in Baja California & Baja California Sur, but you wouldn't be able to take it to the mainland. Nationalizing a car here has benefits, though, and depending on the year & country of origin, it can be "made Mexican" for a fairly minimal expense. I'd recommend shooting me an email - gordon@bajaliferealty.com - and I can connect you with some great relocation experts that'd be able to walk you through all those processes noted above. And of course, I'd love to help you find an awesome home! Hit me up when you've booked a trip and we'll schedule a neighborhood & familiarization tour of our amazing city! Thanks so much for watching & I'll look forward to hearing from you!

Great video Gordon, it gave my wife and I a good feel for La Paz. My wife were thinking of possibly moving to La Paz, but we are hearing there are water issues. Underground aquifers are drying up? Living in the high desert in CA., you can see our concerns. Any info you can provided us would be grateful.
@bajaliferealty6506 Жыл бұрын
For sure! It's a real issue here which can't be diminished... but I'm a big believer in optimism and positivity on this. We do have some great tech solutions on the rise (more and more desalination plants) and a strong community push towards conservation and awareness. Shoot me an email - gordon@bajaliferealty.com!
@mikefanelli1 Жыл бұрын
Water issues, like no water or the quality of water to swim?
@bajaliferealty6506 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike - the issue is drying up aquifers... It's desert here and the city hadn't built in a decent drain infrastructure - so access to fresh water is an issue to be sure. The city occasionally rations municipal supply on summer day - but as mentioned above, there are great tech solutions easing the concerns, and with more folks working toward smarter conservation, we'll be in better and better shape!
@stevefritz518210 ай бұрын
People have been saying the same thing for 20 years, yet La Paz has doubled (more) in size and is currently under a big development boom. These small homes on small lots are being torn down for townhouses or condo/apartment buildings. Worry about water? Sure. Day-to-day we worry about infrastructure. There are times when parts of town will be without water for many days and even weeks, as work is done on improvements. That's when you learn what conservation means.

Where could the average guy with a low budget find a rental or is that not a reality in La Paz?
@bajaliferealty65062 ай бұрын
I would check Facebook pages like "La Paz Rentals By Owner" and similar groups. We still see plenty of amazing rental steals out there. You'd also do well to check in with one of the local property managers, like BCS Home and Pool or La Paz Bay Rentals - they normally have great options!

@stevefritz518210 ай бұрын
Had to laugh at someone saying it was the cleanest town they have ever been to. Obviously, they didn't get off of the Malecon. Not so much poop on the beach but plenty walking through town. You see people pick up after dogs but you also see fresh piles in sidewalks in the morning. People clean up sidewalks but abandoned homes (and there are many) do not get cleaned and trash of all types piles up.
