Sorry, only seeing this now.. how would you rate this over the Rush 12? I am cautious of like LAPG becus its like made in China vs Rush made in Vietnam.. which does have good stuff.. so yea... i would tend to trust 511 more than LAPG too.. your thoughts?
@GearReviewDepot9 күн бұрын
@@JC-wj3hx Definitely go with the 5.11 over this brand. The 5.11 quality is FAR better. Money really tight? Budget is very small? Then go with the LAPG , it’s not a bad pack. Not as good quality, but it’ll get the job done. If you can afford it, go with the 5.11 😉

Nicely done sir. As much as I like my Maxpedition Typhoon and as much as it has taught me to not over pack and be efficient I just need more space for how I want to smooth it in the woods. My Maxpedition Vulture I just not as accessible as I like. Really want a large clam shell main compartment and this pack seems to check most of the boxes for me. Seriously considering it.

As noted by others it is similar to 5.11 Rush 12 but at 2142 cubic inches it has more capacity than the Rush 12 which I believe is around 1300 cu in.

Yeah, a lot of their stuff is modeled off 5.11 gear, at a cheaper price point. I've bought several of their bags and clothing items over the past year, so i don't have long term use with it yet. However, the stuff i have appears to be of excellent quality.

TheTacticalDefender do by any chance have the all hazards prime back pack im looking at purchasing that same bag for my edc becasue i carry alot of stuff threw out my day and i feel like all the features are great even for the size but my question is tbis sir would u reccomend this bag still i also would be using it for hiking and the ocasional long day hikes i ask cuz i havent seen to many 5.11 reviews on the bag besides your reviews becase anytime i look up 5.11 bags your videos come up and i trust ur opinion cuz its the most honest

recker14888 v I did have the All Hazards Prime backpack, I did review it but then I sold it. It's a great pack but not a keeper for me. It's good quality but I just didn't care for the layout. The Atlas 12 would suit my needs better than the All Hazards Prime.

Hi Tim, thanks for the Video! You said once in an other video, that you had also the Rush 12. It seems for me, that the Atlas 12 is a little big bigger (in the height) than the Rush 12? Is this correct? And if yes, how much bigger/higher is the Atlas 12?
@GearReviewDepot5 жыл бұрын
The Atlas 12 is: Overall Dimensions: 18" H x 13" W x 8.5" D Whereas the RUSH12 is: 18" x 11" x 6.5"

I like the look of their gear and I hear it's great quality. I've never heard a bad thing about what they make. I haven't reviewed anything by them, not yet anyway. They are one of the few companies that I've reached out to so I can review some of their products and they basically told me to screw off. lol I still want to review some of their products nonetheless.

Great video. I'm considering the Atlas 72 hr. version. These sure seem to give you a lot of bang for the buck. Some say that the laser cut MOLLE system is harder to weave the MOLLE compatible straps through. In my opinion, the fact that it's harder to weave the straps through tells me that it would also be harder for the straps to come out when you don't want them to. I have to say however that I've never had a problem with the straps coming out of the traditional MOLLE webbing. The key is to install them properly. I'm also a type 1 diabetic; have been for 53 years. I was diagnosed at the age of two and am still going strong with zero diabetic onset issues. As long as you manage your diabetes properly, you can accomplish just as much as anyone else. Thanks for posting.
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely my friend, I find the laser cut webbing better than the traditional PALS. I don't recall it being harder to attach pouches, just as easy as the normal PALS webbing for me. Yeah, I've got lots of complications due to many years of nit controlling blood sugars. Far better now than I've ever been but unfortunately I went far too long with high blood sugars. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated.
@thriftysurvivor61176 жыл бұрын
My pleasure. Thanks for the hard work you put into these videos. Your informative videos have earned you another sub. Keep up the good work. Sounds like you're now taking control of your diabetes and are on the right track. If you take it like I have, you'll use the diabetes as a tool to learn discipline. I call this the diabetic advantage. I can tell you that in my case, it's made me a stronger person than I probably would have been without it. It's all in how you look at it. Thanks again for posting your informative videos my friend.
@66VI66 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the really informative video. Right now I'm trying to decide between the Atlas 12 & Atlas 24 for use as my daily work bag. The deciding factor is the size of the outer, back pocket in which you had file folders. Is that pocket large enough to hold a 4 inch thick book & still fully close? If so, I can use the 12. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I really love this pack. I do prefer ones w a bottle holder (as the external ones usually sag a bit n get stuck on brush), however the pros on this pack far outweigh the lack of a zippered h2o section. Thank you for such a good detailed look at the Atlas pack. Just as a heads up; when reviewers do the one handed demos, it is often very distracting. I asked others if they thought that also n was surprised to find that everyone I asked said felt the same. It's not just you, on other channels I sometimes don't bother watching the full vid cuz the camera AND/or the gear bouncing around is just too annoying. I'm only mentioning this cuz I love your channel, really like your choices of gear you review and enjoy your demeanor n honesty. Peace my friend.
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
I agree, most videos that are done one handed are terrible because the camera is all over the place. I try not to do that, I feel it's not too bad but certainly can get better, and it will. I like getting up close and personal, having the camera on a tripod sometimes is just a little too far away, I prefer to be closer. I'll certainly work on being steadier with the camera. As always thank you for taking the time to watch. Much appreciated.

I added pouches to both sides of this bag. 1 for water, 1 for computer cables. Great bag for 1/2 the cost of competitors. I own 4 LAPG packs, get complements on all of them.

What do ya guys think.. rush 12. Or atlas 12?
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
If you're on a tight budget and need to watch your spending then go with the Atlas, it's a great pack that will last you a very long time. If money isn't an issue and you can afford to spend more then I'd go with the RUSH. I've been using the RUSH for years now with no issues, very pleased with it. If the RUSH wasn't around and all I had to use is the Atlas then I have no doubt it would last me a very long time as well.
@joellowe22156 жыл бұрын
I also have a rush 12 that has been a great GHB.. 511 makes some really great stuff. But not going to lie for the money..I want to try the atlas... the only grip I would have is no water pouch on the side ..

Tim just watching an old review of yours, you had one pocket stuffed with indiv. packaged lens cleaners.i have been using walgreens cleaners, individually packaged, they are ok in that they are self drying, one does not have to dry the lens afer cleaning, what brand do you find the best in this type of lens cleaners??? i apologize for another of my off subject comments l will try to use the email in the future if this is better for you....thanks, FRED.
@GearReviewDepot6 жыл бұрын
fred dobbs I use the Equate brand at Walmart. They also dry out after months of nit being used but I use them so often that it rarely happens. I've tried several brands and this brand seems to work the best for me.
@eccoshoe16 жыл бұрын
Tim i meant the walgreens wipes leave the lens dry with no streaking after cleaning, so you dont have to use a second cloth etc to dry them, one wipe with these and the lens is dry by the time you put glasses etc on....a good feature along with never a streak....

Great Video Man! How does it compare in size to the rush 12 since this is a 35lt and the 12 a 24lt? I had one of these and felt it was too big and I'm thinking of buying a rush 12 but I'm scared it will be too big as well
