Established by Lemuel Balagot in January 1982, L.A. Rose Cafe has remained a staple for the local Los Feliz, Silverlake and Hollywood communities to this day. L.A. Rose Cafe has developed a following of Filipinos and foodies in-the-know by serving authentic Filipino favorites as well as an eclectic mix of world cuisine. We opened as a breakfast and lunch spot with just a few tables and five seats at the counter. Since then we have expanded our space to include a beautiful events room as well as a flourishing catering service renowned for friendly service, beautiful presentation, and of course delicious world cuisine.
While the original cafe didn’t start out serving Filipino cuisine, L.A Rose has over the years evolved into an in-the-know hotspot for authentic Filipino cuisine, connection, and community with regular events featuring karaoke or live music. The beating heart of our business, founder Lem Balagot can still be found pulling up chairs to tables and expanding his guests’ palates by suggesting various dishes and desserts.

Just a tip guys. To taste the true taste of "halo-halo", you have to mix all the ingredients first, even the toppings. When it's mixed, it's like a shake drink, then eat it. It's not satisfying when you eat it bit by bit without even mixing it first, because the term "halo-halo" means mixed.

Just like you did for the halo halo (mix-mix). Mix all the ingredients first before eating them, it helps to enhance your appetite from the last supper.

If you go to the Philippines try loko de Iloko's halo halo in La Union and Chowking , Mang inasal, and the other one that has been open for a long time forgot the name for halo halo and Aling lucing's in Pampanga for Sisig and Gerry's grill.
