La Samaritaine, currently owned by LVMH, is a large luxury department store in Paris, France, located in the first arrondissement.
The building store, which reopened in June 2021 after a long renovation,has been listed since 1990 as a historical monument by the French Ministry of Culture.

I last went to Paris when they were about to refurbish this building. It look interesting. Anyone care to say whether this is direct and better competition for quality of goods and prices compared to Galleries Lafayette??? Excellent videography!

La Samaritaine is very luxury oriented, a bit more than Galeries Lafayette that's all.

I missed this beautiful store when I was in Paris in 2005, as it was being refurbished, and it was closed. So disappointing.

I can imagine how many people try to enter this elegant store who are not properly dressed or who behave like uncouth yahoos. This is a special place and should remain so. Do the doormen refuse entrance to those they deem to be "unworthy"?
