I am also intrigued by levante. Thanks for the review.

That is not the typical LS offering. I can’t recall another shoe getting across the board high scores like this one. Thanks for the review, Chad. As always - love the backdrop you run in.

Thank you my friend! I always appreciate your support and feedback. I feel fortunate to be able to run in quite a few different shoes (and it seems that the list is growing as the channel grows) and while there are a lot of good shoes on the market, there are few that leave a memorable impression like the Prodigio.

It’s a great shoe, soooo different than all the other LS offerings to date. I’m pretty sure AK was instrumental in feedback and design of the shoe. My only real complaint is the credit card like heel cup. Takes some time to break in. Super awesome I can wear toe socks with this model! I’m 100+ miles deep in my first pair….still going great.

Ive tried on some LS shoes over the years and they all felt really firm. Might give these ones a try on in a store if I run across them. Great video Chad. Thanks@

Appreciate you giving it a watch. These shoes are softer and introduced updated technology to compete with the best of them.

Thanks for the review !I think the Prodigio is a very deifferent La Sportiva shoe compared to the “typical” La Sportiva trail runners. Super comfortable, sticky on dry rock and technicla terrain, however La Sportiva compromised durability in favor of weight I think. It is the least durable trail runners from La Sportiva. I already seen durability issues after 80 miles in front of the shoe hopefully dont get worse.

Great feedback! I haven't noticed any durability issues with my pair (85 miles as of this writing). I'm sure durability depends on the conditions and trails that the shoe sees. Thanks for checking out the video!

Hi Chad, great video. I noticed the red T8 shorts. Are they for sale anywhere? Because when I checked the T8 website I couldn't find them. And great matching hat by the way.

Thank you my friend! The red colorway (and purple colorway that you may see in a future video) our discontinued colors. I actually bought these myself through a third party website. They just came out with a gold colorway which I like a lot, and in my UTE 100 video you'll see me wearing a blue colorway which is also a lot of fun!

This is interesting. I bought the La Sportiva Karacal shoe a couple of years ago but ditched them after one run. Incredibly hard midsole and a very harsh ride. Now just a hiking shoe for me. From your thumb squeeze footage, this midsole looks softer. I hope it is. I think they do make great looking shoes though.
@SeeChadRun2 ай бұрын
The Prodigio's nitrogen infused midsole is exactly what we expect in our shoes these days. I quite like it!

Seems like LS are doing a decent amount of marketing in the Colorado area, which makes sense, given the store in Boulder etc. Noticed Joseph Demoor rocking their stuff recently in Seth's videos. I like and own a few pieces of their apparel which is great quality also.

@solebrother9620 I noticed him wearing their shoes and gear more too. Wonder if they're sponsoring him. They sent me the blizzard wind jacket which I'm quite impressed with as well! It's super lightweight and compact, well thought out, and well made.

Can we have a Mutant vs Prodigio shootout?
@rundavidrun762 ай бұрын
Just curious why you went with the Topo MTN Racer 3’s for your 100. Were they more comfortable than the Prodigio’s for the long duration?
@SeeChadRun2 ай бұрын
Great question! I hesitated to use the Prodigio shoes for my 100 miler because I wanted to get a little more experience in the shoe before committing to something as long as 100 miles. I had a little more experience with the Topo's, and they are extremely comfortable, so that's what I went with. The Topo's were great until about mile 70, then it seemed as though the midsole was too soft and I developed blisters under the balls of my feet. The upper of the Topo MTN Racer 3 was great the entire time. I wonder now if the Prodigio would have been better because of the rock plate to offer a little bit more underfoot protection. It's all in hindsight, and who knows if I would have had a different issue over 100 miles. The Salomon Genesis is another shoe that I really contemplated using because for my foot, that really is another great shoe! Thanks for the question!
@rundavidrun762 ай бұрын
@@SeeChadRun I’m trying to think through my own strategies and footwear for a long race. Did you change socks during your hundred or tape your feet? Blisters are the absolute worst. I had 3 bad blisters on my 50-miler last year in a pair of Brooks Cascadia that had a rock plate. I got one in my Salomon Pulsar Trail Pro 2’s during the Devil on the Divide this past Saturday (in a weird spot in the outside of my heel). I want to find a good trail shoe with a balance of comfort, performance and protection. We should go for a run sometime and talk foot strategies.
@SeeChadRun2 ай бұрын
@rundavidrun76 sounds good to me and I'm happy to share any knowledge and experience I have. I've never had blister issues until I ran my hundred miler. During my UTE 100, I did change my socks. I changed them about halfway through and again at mile 70 (I had an extra pair in my pack just in case and when I started getting the blisters, I switched to a fresh pair). When I noticed the blister had formed, on my right foot particularly, I did tape it which helped but at that point my foot was pretty sensitive. Hope this helps!
@robertlynn96672 ай бұрын
Hi Chad, how does this compare to the Salomon Genesis (cushion wise, etc.)?
@SeeChadRun2 ай бұрын
The Salomon Genesis is slightly softer based on underfoot feeling and the "thumb- squeeze test", but part of that may be due to the rock plate in the Prodigio.
@robertlynn96672 ай бұрын
@@SeeChadRun Thanks! Also have you run in the Brooks Catamount 3? It compares to both these shoes, I think.
@SeeChadRun2 ай бұрын
@robertlynn9667 I haven't ran in the Catamount 3 yet although I did ask Brooks to send me a pair. Haven't received him yet although I have received the Brooks Caldera 7 (quite a different shoe in many respects compared to the Prodigio).
