If anyone still has this problem, after trying everything I found the fix was to use the Alexa app on an android phone to find the wifi. I was using iphones and they would not get the wifi network. Hope this works for you.

You have to have a router in your house for any echo generation to work if you are using a wifi Hotspot it will not work or connect

I recently wanted to change my wifi settings in Alexa app. So, as the step goes: I switched the Alexa to setup mode and then followed the screen instructions. Hi Sujit K, First make sure all the previous saved WiFi is removed from your ID, Then try to connect to your WiFi, it might fix the issue. If also does not work, reset it, then try to connect it again. It should fix the issue.

My wifi password is properly typed in on Alexa app but it still says wrong password. I tried hard reset for alexa. Even delete cache and data on my phone. Still when configuring Alexa Echo on the app, says wrong Wifi password. Checked my router setup but it has the correct wifi password. This is frustrating. 🤔

Hi Peter Lee, If your Router is is far away, it can cause the problem, Restart your Router, Reset the Dot, make sure it is close to your router then set it up. It can fix the issue.

Hi coralpinkeupop, Make sure there is no space or Capitalization, it can cause some problem. Or If your Amazon account is connected to WIFI before, it could save the network, then you changed your Password, it can cause the issue. In that case try the 2nd process.
