I'm sure that's exactly what every bad critic said to someone else, when they had the idea to use a new material.

i have thought of this idea recently using spiders web instead of silk without searching about it but i also thought that it could be the extinction of spiders but to bad someone thought of it too

Spiders are cannibals. Not only that, but they have to be fed live bugs. And believe it or not, mealworms are more expensive pound for pound than beef! And countless times more expensive than the fruit tree leaves you feed to silkworms. And the amount of work it takes? Just imagine keeping two thousand spiders each in individual cages, placing expensive mealworms in their webs one by one every day by hand, and hooking up each individual spider one by one to a silk collecting device. With silkworms, you just toss all two thousand in an open crate full of fruit tree leaves. When their food gets low, you just dump in more leaves. And you gather all their silk at once from their cocoons when they hatch into moths! And even then, there's not enough silk to meet demand.
