Hi guys! Glad you're all enjoying the video! Just a few things I wanted to add, if you're wondering where something is from, check the description! Also just wanted to add, even though I touched on it in the video, these rats lived a very good life before they came to me, they weren't tested on, they were only used to study rat behaviour! :)

That's what i was going to ask! Usually lab rats aren't up for adoption after an experiment, because legislation says so. And these are not the "normal rat breed" used in experiments. But I'm glad that even though they hvn't had a bad life you're giving them a lot of new experiences that they can enjoy.

it's still a test even if their behavior was observed. Usually their behavior gets observed under some condition (to see how they react). But I get what you mean, there wasn't any surgery or medicine given to them.

Emiology I am glad these guys didn’t go through a really rough life. The one test I would LOVE to do on a rat is the tickle/petting test where we are learning about their happy noises!!! XD (The ones too high-pitches for humans to hear.) While I’m at it, I would love to be in a cat and kitten purring experiment!!!

I had a pet rat try to make off with a half eaten cutlet once...didn’t get very far (too heavy), but don’t you think it was going to let go of it. Oh no. I had to cut off the corner, it had sunk it’s teeth into, to get my dinner back 😆

@@raraavis7782 Seen that countless times with cookies. You can lift one up and the beast (-; will hang on with its teeth. Sometimes will even do a chinup and try to eat (or try to bite as much as possible off before letting go) it while suspended.

Rats are more than sweet and loyal. If you have rats keep a group of five (only males or only females) and you'll see how passionate and social they are. They have their very own characters. One of my male group I once had was like a samaritan and always on the side of the weakest member. They build friendships and love their owner as a member of the pack - even though they are so tiny. They can do everything with you and are like small dogs. They even can laugh and enjoy petting. Not to forget their curiosity. That's what makes it so fascinating keeping rats at all.

I am in my late 30’s and have had rats since my early teens. I currently have 3 girls Angelica, Eliza and Peggy. (100 internet points if you get the reference!). I am so happy rats are becoming more popular but please please please do some research before getting them. As you are here watching this video I suspect you already are, but watch videos & read up on how to care for them to give them the best quality of life possible. Rats love eating bugs! One of my old girls, Cricket, was named that because I used to work at a reptile store and she was a feeder for sale there. I really loved rats and wanted the poor feeders to be happy while they were with us, so I'd treat them to any escaped crickets I'd find around and take the friendly rats out to hang out with. Cricket was OBSESSED with eating crickets and would beg all the time when she saw me. Of course, I had to take her home to live with me and my pet rats.

Cooper Olm Cricket probably needed more protein. Pet stores usually only feed rats seeds and/or pellets. But they should have grains, fruit, veggies, and occasional animal product (meat, bugs, dairy, eggs). A well-rounded diet makes a happier, healthier, more satiated rat.

I love this. I take in feeder mice, so I often witness a lot of firsts. like... first time using a wheel or ever seeing a toy or hide or chew. The cool thing with mice is that they show so much emotion and it's so rewarding. Even plopping a couple toilet paper tubes in their cage gets them so excited.
